This provision is good
The childminder is very enthusiastic and motivated in her role. She offers a warm, welcoming environment for all children to flourish and make good progress from when they first start. Children's health and physical well-being are supported very well. They thoroughly enjoy daily outdoor activities and eat a range of healthy meals and snacks. For example, children visit local parks, stay-and-play sessions and the library sing-and- rhyme time. The childminder forms trusting relationships with parents which support children's learning and development, and contribute to their emotional security. Parents speak highly of the childminder. For example, written comments state that 'the childminder shows compassion, enthusiasm, care and consistency'. The quality of teaching is consistently strong. The childminder is a good role model. She is attentive and responsive to the needs of the children. Children are motivated and

Inspection activities
The inspector checked the safety and suitability of the premises with the childminder. The inspector looked at documentation, including policies and procedures, the current paediatric first-aid certificate and public liability insurance. The inspector checked the suitability of household members. The inspector observed children during their play, and discussed with the childminder the impact of the activities on children's learning and development. The inspector took account of written views and comments of parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of her responsibility to safeguard children and knows what to do if she is concerned about a child's welfare. The childminder's recent updates for child protection have broadened her knowledge even further. For example, she has accessed information on the 'Prevent' duty guidance. The childminder seeks the views of children and parents. For example, children make choices from a wide range of resources and parents make verbal daily requests. The childminder has also changed the daily routines and activities to meet the needs of individual children, especially as children become more mobile.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides suitable challenge for very young children. She consistently encourages them to do things for themselves and is enthusiastic with her praise. For example, when children try to put lids on saucepans or retrieve toys from the toy box, she says, 'You can do it,' and, 'Almost there, good try, well done.' The childminder thoroughly enjoys her role. She engages well with parents to support children's learning and development. For example, the childminder regularly discusses daily activities, meals and routines with them. She supports children's emerging communication and language very well. For example, during role play, she sits with the children and says, 'I can see you have given teddy a muffin,' and, 'Good. You are stirring the dinner.'
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder supports children's emotional well-being very well. She works with parents to ensure children settle and are happy. For example, she gains information from parents about children's needs when they first start and provides comfort objects for when children go to sleep. Children are emotionally secure. They have begun to form positive relationships with the childminder, her own children and other children in her care. The childminder constantly supports children as they begin to share and take turns. She uses positive language and helps children to show care and concern for each other. For example, the childminder encourages very young children to give each other a hug and say that they are sorry when they take toys from each other.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress from when they first start. They become confident and independent. For example, children know routines well, they eagerly sit down without any hesitation and begin to feed themselves during mealtimes. Very young children's emerging understanding of diversity beyond their immediate family experiences is supported very well. For example, children enjoy learning about festivals during arts and crafts sessions at the local children's centre. Children thoroughly enjoy the company of others. They develop the skills they need for the next stages in their learning.
