This provision is good
The childminder has taken positive steps to reflect on her practice and make the necessary changes to improve the service she provides. She has met all actions following her last inspection. The childminder has developed effective partnerships with parents and other providers, to exchange information about children's needs and support the continuity in their care. The childminder provides a good range of opportunities to help children become confident in their own abilities, to support their independence. Children learn practical skills for the next stage in their learning and complete daily tasks for themselves, such as preparing fruits and spreading crackers with cheese. The childminder plans stimulating activities that children enjoy. For example, children are keen to take part in creative activities, such as making musical shakers and assembling collage materials. She considers how to complement their learning at

It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not include parents and children's views routinely in her self- evaluation to help identify further improvements. The childminder does not consistently help children to develop their sense of responsibility and identify potential risks to keep themselves and others safe.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of children's play experiences. The inspector spoke with the childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection, and carried out a joint evaluation of practice with the childminder. The inspector viewed the areas of the childminder's home used by children. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as policies and children's records. The inspector took account of parents' and children's views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of the procedures to follow should she have any concerns about a child in her care. She maintains an accurate record of children's attendance and logs their arrival and departure times. She makes thorough risk assessments of her home, garden and places she visits with children. She supervises them vigilantly. The childminder keeps her knowledge and skills up to date. For example, she works closely with local childminding support services to further improve her professional skills. She attends training and exchanges ideas with other childminders.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder observes children's play and plans effectively for their learning. She considers their stage of development to provide activities that are matched to children's needs and interest. For example, children have fun as they join in with friendly competitions and play board games together. The childminder provides resources that effectively support children's imaginative play. Children enjoy exploring a range of role- play scenarios, such as schools and cafes. They explore their musical talents and perform together as part of a band. The childminder plans many opportunities for children to be physically active, in the setting and in the local environment. Children benefit from walks, exploring the local countryside and practising their physical skills, such as playing ball games and using playground equipment.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder knows children well and is warm and friendly. Children form close bonds with her and enjoy spending time in her care. They are happy, secure and have lots of fun. The childminder supports children's self-esteem well and makes them aware of their achievements. For instance, she is positive and consistently praises children's efforts. The childminder helps children to develop their social skills and manage their feelings and behaviour. Children behave well, learn to share and take turns. They benefit from a range of visits, such as out into the local community where they can meet new people. The childminder helps children to develop their understanding of communities beyond their immediate experience, such as the different languages people speak.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are fully engaged in an interesting range of activities that they enjoy. Children progress well in their mathematics and are keen to practise their number recognition, and counting. They enjoy sharing books and use a range of materials to develop their writing skills. Conversation flows freely and children talk in detail about their experiences at home and school. They learn the importance of washing their hands before eating, and enjoy a range of healthy food and drinks.
