The childminder knows the procedures to follow should she have concerns about a child's welfare. She places a high importance on children's safety and regularly checks all areas of her home to help prevent accidents. The childminder is eager to improve her skills. For example, she reads specialist early years publications to improve her knowledge and practice.
p.3

The childminder supports children's communication and language skills successfully. For instance, she sings a wide variety of songs with the children, teaching them new words, and reads stories to children using lively tones. The childminder supports children's understanding of the natural world effectively. For example, she teaches them the names of different farm animals and the sounds they make as they play with toys animals. The childminder enriches children's learning, for example, by taking children to the local library to look at books and by visiting the local park to support their physical development. She provides good ways for children to develop good physical skills, such as jumping, climbing and balancing.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
