The childminder plans fun activities and experiences which meet children's individual learning needs and interests. Children are motivated and eager to learn. Children form strong bonds with the childminder, with whom they clearly feel secure and happy. Children behave very well. Partnerships with parents are effective. Good communication systems help ensure that parents celebrate children's achievements and build on these at home. The childminder keeps parents well informed about their children's daily routine. Parents comment positively about how this information helps them to understand their child's development. The childminder regularly takes children to a variety of groups and local places of interest. Children develop their good social skills and confidence with new people.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching activities and assessed the impact of these on children's learning. The inspector talked to the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector completed and evaluated an activity with the childminder. The childminder looked at documentation, including evidence of the suitability of adults living on the premises. The inspector took into account the views of parents in written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder knows how to protect children from harm. She understands what action to take should she have any concerns about their welfare. The childminder monitors children's progress from the start and involves parents in observations and assessments. She understands the importance of working closely with other professionals and settings to share information that supports the continuity of learning. The childminder takes into account the views of children and parents to support her planning and reviews these effectively, overall.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Teaching is good. Children are given time to explore and investigate a wide range of resources, including those that stimulate their senses. They enjoy handling and manipulating a variety of materials, listening to the different noises that are made when objects are banged together. Young children enjoy pressing buttons and rolling balls. This helps to develop their small-muscle skills and coordination. The childminder spends most of her time at very young children's level. She maintains eye contact and ensures that children are engaged and having fun. The childminder promotes young children's communication skills well. She uses very clear language and lots of repetition. Young children listen and respond with delight as the childminder sings familiar rhymes and songs to them. They giggle and babble excitedly in reply.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder provides tailored settling-in sessions to help all children feel safe and a sense of belonging in her home. She treats children with kindness and respect and frequently praises their efforts. The childminder provides a welcoming, homely learning environment with easy access to a good range of toys and resources. This helps to give children freedom to make choices in their own play and helps promote their independence. Children's physical development is promoted well. The childminder supports babies to develop their early walking skills. She takes them on frequent outings, such as to parks and woodland and to soft-play centres and libraries. This helps to promote babies' understanding of the world around them and encourages them to be active. Children benefit from healthy snacks and help themselves to beakers of water.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are acquiring the key skills and attitudes they need for the next stage of learning and the eventual move on to nursery and school. They explore their environment confidently and delight in the choice of activities and resources that are available to them. Younger children enjoy pretending to feed baby dolls. They persist with tasks, such as placing the bottle in the doll's mouth. All children make good progress.
