This provision is good
Children thrive in this vibrant and stimulating environment. Activities are exciting and resources are readily available. The childminder plans effectively, taking account of children's interests to support their future learning. Children are happy, settled and secure. They build close attachments with the childminder and other children, and separate well from their parents. The childminder works in close partnership with parents. Good communication each day ensures they receive detailed information of their child's day, progress and achievements. The childminder takes all opportunities to recognise children's efforts and to praise them for their achievements. This effectively enhances children's self-esteem. Children's social skills develop superbly. They regularly meet with other children and enjoy weekly visits to a local care home. They form close friendships with the elderly residents and they sing familiar nursery rhymes together.

This provision is good
The childminder evaluates her provision and practice, to continually improve outcomes for children and families, taking into account their views and opinions.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder misses opportunities to support children's awareness of mathematical concepts during child-led and spontaneous play. Children do not have opportunities to see their home language or develop their understanding of different languages within the environment.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities in the childminder's home and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke with the childminder and the children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as the childminder's training certificates and evidence of the suitability of adults living in the childminder's home. The inspector spoke to a parent during the inspection and took account of their written views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder is knowledgeable of her role and responsibility in protecting children from harm and abuse. She is fully conversant with the procedures for raising a concern about a child in her care. The childminder keeps her knowledge of safeguarding and all aspects of childcare up to date through professional development opportunities. She also shares good practice with other providers. The childminder works closely with parents, sharing ideas and ways of continuing their child's learning at home. Parents are very happy with the service the childminder provides and they describe her as very supportive.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder plans effectively for all children taking into account their starting points in learning that she gathers from parents. Comprehensive observations and assessments of children's development inform topics and activities. This enables the childminder to identify the next steps in their learning. The childminder responds to children when they babble. She introduces new words and uses lots of repetition, supporting children's language and communication. Children show perseverance during tasks. For example, they use pipets to suck paint and then place droplets or squeeze the paint over pumpkins, supporting their developing dexterity. Children enjoy recreating familiar experiences. For example, they enjoy pretending to make food and drink for the childminder. They carefully set the picnic table outdoors with cups, play cutlery and foods.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children learn how to share and take turns with the toys and during activities. The childminder encourages their awareness of being kind to one another. Clear, consistent routines encourage children's feeling of security. They anticipate when snack is ready and understand the need to wash their hands before eating. Children access drinks throughout the day. The childminder works successfully in partnership with parents to support their children to achieve developmental milestones, such as toilet training. She adheres to their individual care routines throughout the day. Children enjoy woodland walks and exploring outdoors. They build good coordination and are physically active using different wheeled toys and equipment in the garden or when visiting the park.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are making good progress and are building future skills in readiness for the move on to school. They show confidence in everyday routines and are inquisitive learners. Children show independence and lead their own play choosing from a wide range of resources.
