Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The highly skilled and experienced childminder, continuously seeks ways to extend her knowledge about children's care and development. She carefully selects training opportunities according to the needs of children and this has a great impact on their eventual outcomes. For example, children's communication development benefits from her recent training and improved expertise in this area. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a robust knowledge of current child protection legislation and how to identify those children at risk of harm. She carries out stringent risk assessment to ensure children are safe in her care. Children learn from her excellent practice and as a result, they too understand how to keep themselves safe. Links with other providers and outside professionals are strong and promote a coordinated approach to children's care and learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Children are enthusiastic and highly motivated learners. They demonstrate great maturity as they take part in adult-led activities and concentrate exceptionally well on their tasks. For example, children cannot wait to investigate autumn vegetables, such as squash. They talk about the different textures and colours, and make predictions about what is inside. Children use tools confidently as they help to cut into the vegetables and make decisions about the best tool to scoop out the seeds. Children's growing vocabulary is enhanced to the highest levels as the childminder carefully uses different words in her comments and questions. Children respond swiftly and soon begin to use terms, such as 'slippery' and 'bumpy', in their discussions.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are exceptionally happy and secure in the care of the childminder. They appreciate the warm, child-centred home and the high-quality toys and resources available to them. Children especially enjoy being outdoors, where the childminder offers even more stimulating experiences to suit children of all ages. That said, the childminder is intends to develop this area even further to benefit all children who prefer this environment. Children behave exceptionally well and show great kindness and consideration for their friends. The childminder promotes healthy foods at every opportunity and therefore, from an early age children relish their nutritious and wholesome snacks and meals.
p.3

Children are independent and demonstrate an excellent attitude to learning. They listen carefully to instructions and follow daily routines with confidence. Children like nothing better than snuggling up with the childminder to read a book. They communicate well and have formed strong bonds with the childminder and their friends alike.
