p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not keep an accurate record of children’s attendance. This is a requirement of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Childcare Register.  The childminder knows the procedures to follow if she has concerns about a child’s well-being. However, she does not understand the wider aspects of safeguarding, for example, the importance of monitoring children’s attendance patterns.  The childminder does not have an adequate understanding of the learning and development requirements. This means she is not able to provide suitably challenging activities across all areas of learning.  The childminder lacks a clear understanding of the required progress check for children between the ages of two and three years, as she does not fully understand why this must be completed.  The childminder knows how to keep children safe. She assesses the environment to minimise risk and remove hazards.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder is aware of how to promote children’s good health. She holds an up to date paediatric first aid certificate.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
