This provision is good
Leaders and managers are ambitious and they communicate high expectations to all. Since registration, leaders have taken positive action to improve the quality of the provision in a concerted and effective way. Priorities are set to improve the provision and further enhance the environment for children. Teaching is good and staff are responsive to children's needs. Staff have a good knowledge of how young children learn. They analyse the information gained from their observations to make sure they plan for children's individual learning and care needs effectively. The staff team are well qualified and an established programme of professional development helps staff to improve their knowledge, understanding and practice. Regular supervisory sessions and performance management ensures that the quality of the provision and teaching is consistently strong. Partnership with parents are good. They are fully informed about their children's

progress. Parents' views are valued and leaders respond appropriately to any concerns raised. Parents speak positively about the nursery and are pleased with the progress children make.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Staff do not always obtain enough information from parents about what children already know and can do when they first start, to help them plan their learning fully from the outset. Opportunities to promote the learning of children who enjoy playing in the outdoor area have not yet been fully developed, to further enhance children's achievements.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outside and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke to staff and children at appropriate times during the inspection. She held a meeting with the provider and the manager. The inspector carried out a joint observation with the manager. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff. The inspector looked at a sample of policies, accident and incident records, fire evacuation procedures, children's learning and development records and planning documentation. She also looked at parent questionnaires and spoke to a small number of parents and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The provider meets the statutory requirements, and leaders and staff are fully aware of their role in protecting children. They implement safeguarding policies effectively and staff have recently completed safeguarding training. They are clear about the procedures to follow in the event of a concern about a child's welfare. Risks assessments cover all aspects of the premises and staff implement these effectively. Staff are quick to address any incidents or concerns raised over safety procedures, including emergency evacuation. All the required documentation is in place and maintained well to show how the setting operates. Leaders meet required adult-to-child-ratios and deploy staff effectively. They monitor the quality of teaching and learning, and this supports successful outcomes for all children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff plan a wide range of challenging activities that take into account children's interests and next steps in learning. Staff teaching skills and good interactions with the children supports learning well, and fosters their language skills effectively. Children enjoy looking at books and listening to stories. They like making marks on whiteboards and talk about how they feel. Children use their imaginations well, such as in role play while pretending to be hairdressers, with staff as customers. Children use their senses while looking for and counting beads they find in foam, and look for the corresponding number card. Children are developing the key skills they will need for their future learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children's behaviour is good and staff provide a good role model from which children learn how to behave towards others. Staff have a gentle, nurturing approach and children learn to take turns, share and think about the needs of others. Children are well looked after and enjoy their play and learning in this inviting, stimulating and secure environment. Staff give good attention to the way they organise the indoor environment and resources to meet the needs of individual children. Children are seen as unique individuals and staff have a secure bond with them. This fosters children's emotional well-being effectively. Staff promote children's health and physical development successfully, such as during personal care routines and play outdoors each day. Children receive healthy snacks and meals to meet their needs. Staff involved in preparing food have completed the required training.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in all aspects of learning in readiness for school. They are confident communicators and they develop good early mathematical and literacy skills. Children make choices about what they would like to play with and have a go at putting on their shoes and coats. Children develop good social skills and learn to use good manners. They are happy and develop positive relationships with their peers.
