This provision is good
Young children form strong emotional attachments with the childminder. Children behave very well and learn how to take turns. They are emotionally secure and make good progress in their learning and development. Partnerships with parents are good. The childminder keeps parents well informed about children's daily experiences and routines. Young children are happy and confident in the childminder's care. They show pleasure in her company as they listen and respond, particularly during stories and singing. The childminder has improved her practice since the last inspection. She has used a range of training and kept up to date with childcare matters, to improve children's learning and development. The childminder takes the children out every day. For example, children visit the library, and stay and play, and music sessions. They begin to develop an understanding of people in the wider community and they develop confidence in social situations.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not regularly share children's next steps in learning with parents, to keep them informed of how, together, they can further support the children's development. On occasion, some activities are not consistently well planned to keep children fully engaged.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector toured the premises with the childminder. The inspector spoke with parents to gain their views. The inspector looked at a sample of documents, such as policies and procedures, qualifications and insurance documents. The inspector observed the quality of teaching and learning and discussed with the childminder the quality of activities. The inspector checked the suitability of the childminder and anyone living on the premises over the age of 16 years.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder keeps her mandatory training, such as paediatric first-aid, up to date and she understands her responsibility to notify Ofsted of any changes in her practice within 14 days. The childminder has a secure understanding of her responsibility to safeguard children and knows what to do if she is concerned about a child's welfare. She keeps accurate records for the children, including emergency contacts and a register of the hours children attend. The childminder reflects on her practice and has worked hard since her last inspection and recently started to improve ways of monitoring children's development. The childminder listens to parents and takes their wishes into account, which has a positive impact on children's development and well-being.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children make good progress in their learning and development and the childminder observes children's progress from their starting points. She uses this information well overall to meet children's learning needs. Children enjoy using a range of resources. For example, they explore building blocks, musical instruments, pens and books. The childminder sits with the children and supports them well overall, for example, as they explore the texture of play dough. They enjoy rolling and cutting the dough together and the childminder encourages them to concentrate as they roll and squeeze it. Generally, the childminder teaches the basics well and supports the next stages of children's learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children show they feel safe and emotionally secure. They are familiar with routines and are confident in social situations, such as when they go to daily group activities. Children develop an understanding of people, families and communities beyond their own. Children are encouraged to be independent from a young age. For example, they make good attempts to feed themselves with lots of praise and encouragement from the childminder. Children have access to drinking water throughout the day, enjoy healthy snacks, such as bananas, strawberries and yogurt, and learn how to keep themselves healthy.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children begin to learn the skills they need for their next stages of learning and development. They are confident and independent, and have started to develop their communication and language skills at a very young age. For example, they eagerly use single words, babble, sing rhymes and recall words to favourite stories. Children are working comfortably within the ranges of development typical for their ages.
