This provision is outstanding

 The quality of teaching is excellent and staff precisely plan activities and resources exceptionally well towards the needs of every child's development. Children of all ages are highly motivated to learn and make excellent progress in their development from their starting points.  Staff offer excellent opportunities for children to be extremely independent. For instance, older children help to set the table and serve their own snacks and lunches. Older babies and toddlers know when to wash their own hands and show fantastic self- help skills as they begin to learn to dress themselves.  Staff form extremely close relationships with all other professionals and settings involved in children's care. They share extensive information to offer highly consistent support in preparing babies and children exceptionally well towards their next steps in learning and the moves to school.  The manager has extremely high expectations for all staff and children. She monitors

and oversees children's development extremely well to identify and rapidly close any gaps in learning before their moves to school.  The manager carries out extensive reviews of the quality of the nursery provision and staff practice to make continuous improvements. Since the change in ownership, some of the staff have achieved higher qualifications. They share extensive information on their new learning and are inspirational role models for less experienced staff.

Inspection activities

 The inspector observed children's activities indoors and outdoors.  The inspector undertook a joint observation with the manager.  The inspector had discussions with the children, staff and the manager.  The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day of the inspection and through written feedback.  The inspector looked at a range of relevant documentation relating to safeguarding and staff suitability, as well as policies, procedures and progress records.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The manager offers exceptional supervision and mentoring for her staff to help them to maintain the highest outcomes for all children. She makes excellent use of her partnerships with other early years professionals to share and update her knowledge consistently. For example, she has cascaded training for staff to learn how to rigorously monitor and plan towards children's individual progress. Each room leader works extremely closely with staff to identify and help raise children's achievements to the highest level. The manager accurately recognises and plans towards areas for future development, such as enhancing the already excellent opportunities for children to learn even more about the world around them. Safeguarding is effective. Staff have an excellent understanding of the procedures to follow if they have a concern about a child's welfare. They carry out rigorous safety checks around the setting and teach children how to

identify and manage risks. For example, older children confidently explain what to do in the event of an emergency.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Staff extend children's vocabulary and skilfully give them the time they need to think and respond to questions with high levels of confidence. Babies and toddlers use their excellent developing language to share their interests, and take part in conversations and singing sessions. Staff encourage children to share their excellent number skills through everyday activities. For example, children draw pictures of their homes and write the number of their house on the door. Relationships with parents are excellent. For instance, staff share precisely written reports that explain their child's excellent progress. They identify accurate targets to support their child's learning between home and the setting. Parents have very easy access to information about their children's activities and constantly share their child's achievements from home.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children have excellent relationships with staff and seek them for reassurance and cuddles during the day. Babies settle in well on arrival and toddlers who have just moved up to the next age-range room show high levels of comfort and motivation as they eagerly join in with new experiences. All babies and children are extremely well behaved and show kindness towards each other. For example, older children say 'sorry' when they accidently bump into one another. Children take part in lots of physical exercise and thoroughly enjoy exploring the extensive opportunities to learn outdoors.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Babies and children make excellent progress and some children exceed expectations, preparing them very well towards their school readiness. They make excellent progress towards their early writing skills. For example, staff write letters in paint and babies copy similar actions running their fingers through paints. Toddlers show pride in their drawings of circles and older children quickly learn to recognise and write letters in their names.
