Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

Safeguarding is effective. Staff have a superb understanding of what action to take if they have any concerns about a child's welfare and of the signs to look out for. The management team and staff place the highest priority on children's safety. For example, they ensure the environment, resources and activities are safe and they are extremely vigilant in protecting children from harm. The management team provides comprehensive training and mentoring for all staff and supports them to continue their professional development. This has an extremely positive impact on the standards of the provision for children. The management team and staff are highly reflective and carefully analyse the quality of all aspects of the setting. They take into account parents' and children's views and are extremely active in continually enriching children's play experiences. Partnerships with parents are excellent. Staff share information about each child's day extremely well,

enabling parents to have an exceptionally clear understanding of the skills their children are developing.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Staff consistently focus on children's individual needs and current interests. They offer a highly stimulating environment indoors and outdoors. Staff are highly skilled at interacting with children to build on what they already know and motivate them to gain new skills. For example, children gain confidence in taking part in 'foam fencing'. They listen carefully and follow instructions extremely well. They understand fully why they need to wear a protective helmet when taking part. They demonstrate an exceptional understanding of how to keep themselves and others safe, without compromising their well-being. The management team has identified that there is scope to make further improvements to the book area for children. They are keen to extend the range of books to include more non- fiction that reflects children's interests, so that children can use them to enhance and extend their play.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children behave exceptionally well and easily make friends as they join in with group games. Staff are excellent role models. They demonstrate to children how to be kind and caring and how to treat others. Children develop exceptionally good social skills and are independent in their self-care skills. They enthusiastically and confidently join in with a wealth of activities. For example, they drive go-karts, develop skills in archery, swim, take part in performing arts and play imaginatively. They are active and develop their understanding of how to follow a healthy lifestyle. Children radiate happiness and have immense fun at the setting.
