This provision is good
Since the last inspection the childminder has successfully addressed the actions made for improvement. She has completed a first aid course. She takes time to reflect on her practice and is constantly looking at ways to improve and change to cater for children's individual needs. The childminder has a good understanding of children's development. She regularly observes children to identity their individual interests and what they need to learn next. This helps her to plan activities that support their good progress. Partnerships with parents are strong. The childminder keeps them regularly informed of children's progress. She has daily discussion as well as sharing the children's learning journals. This help parents to know what their child is working on and how to support their learning at home. The childminder offers high levels of praise and encouragement consistently to children which helps to support their confidence, motivation and self-esteem.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Professional development is not in place that helps raise the quality of teaching to an even higher level. The childminder does not always fully promote younger children's explorative and investigative skills to the highest level in some planned activities.

Inspection activities
The inspector had a tour of the premises. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact on children's progress. The inspector spoke to children throughout the inspection. The inspector jointly observed an activity with the childminder and held discussions regarding children's learning and progress. The inspector spoke to the childminder throughout the inspection. She looked at records and documents, including evidence of the suitability of adult members of the household. The inspector took account of parents' written comments.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of her role and responsibility to respond to concerns about a child's welfare. She has completed training to improve her knowledge of recent changes to safeguarding matters. This helps her identify any children who may be at risk of harm. The childminder develops children's understanding of safety and how to stay safe. They help to tidy away after activities and understand risks, such as the stairs. The childminder has developed successful strategies to track the progress children make. She understands how to identify and support children who might not be making expected progress.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The enthusiastic childminder provides children with exciting activities and experiences that engage and motivate them to learn, overall. Learning is fun and children are excited to join in with activities led by the childminder and those they choose for themselves. They show sustained concentration as they make pictures with glue and a collage with older children, deciding the best way to complete the activity. Children initiate imaginative play as they act out their favourite stories in the den. The childminder places a strong emphasis on communication and language and understanding the natural world during teaching and learning opportunities. For example, she sings songs with children and is skilled at asking questions and encouraging their responses. There are opportunities to practise early writing and reading skills, such as through exploring a range of books to encourage children's interest in written words.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder builds strong bonds with children and knows their individual needs and routines well. She is a positive role model. She helps children to develop a good sense of belonging and security. They learn to be sociable towards each other and to consider others' feelings and needs. They speak politely to each other and take turns. The childminder helps children to create and follow rules for their own well-being and safety. Children learn to act independently, particularly in meeting their personal care needs. The childminder helps children to understand the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyles. They discuss why foods are good for them and the impact on their bodies.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children develop key skills for their future learning and eventual move on to school. They show interest in new experiences. For example, they become fascinated with squeezing glue and mixing various pieces into it. Children develop good social skills according to their age. They play alongside each other well as they build friendships. Children persevere in tasks and gain independence.
