This provision is good
The childminder is reflective in her practice. She welcomes and includes the views of parents when making changes to raise outcomes for children. For example, she has met the action and recommendations that were raised during her last inspection. This has helped her to achieve the current good standards in the setting. Children display a good level of emotional development. The childminder forms secure attachments with them and values their unique ideas. Children settle well and thrive in her care. The childminder is fully aware of her responsibility to supervise children and protect them from harm. She effectively takes action to manage and eliminate risks both inside and outside to help children play safely. The childminder frequently shares information with parents about the progress children make and provides ideas to support home learning. This helps to build on continuity in learning. Children make good progress in their learning and development, and develop secure

foundations for starting school. The childminder provides a good range of activities to meet the different learning needs of children.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder does not organise her play area more effectively to encourage children to access all areas of learning fully and become independent. There are few opportunities for children to develop greater awareness of other languages, cultures and faiths to support diversity in the setting.

What the setting needs to do to improve further

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities and interactions between the childminder and children throughout the inspection. The inspector viewed documentation, such as evidence of suitability and qualifications. The inspector viewed areas in the property used for childminding. The inspector discussed with the childminder how she evaluates her practice and plans for improvement. The inspector spoke with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures and knows how to report any concerns regarding children's welfare. She monitors children's attendance closely, and can easily identify any children who may be at risk of harm from extreme views or behaviour. The childminder keeps required information on children and ensures that she meets all welfare requirements. For example, she now keeps a valid paediatric first-aid qualification to enable her to treat injuries effectively. She effectively tracks the progress of all children and ensures that children achieve well in all areas of learning. The childminder knows how to build strong partnerships with other professionals, such as other childminders, to share best practice and help raise standards further in her setting.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder obtains detailed information from parents about what children can and cannot do when they start. She uses this information well to plan for what children need to learn next to help them progress in their learning. The childminder interacts well with children and asks relevant questions to help build on their communication and language skills. For example, she positions herself well when talking to children, gives eye contact and repeats instructions to help them understand. This helps younger children to remain focused and eager to learn. Children have good opportunities to develop their imaginative skills and become independent thinkers. For example, the childminder provides an extensive range of role-play resources and encourages children to think and test ideas as they construct a train track.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder provides children with a safe and welcoming environment. She gives clear expectations for behaviour and encourages children to share and take turns. This contributes positively to the way children behave. Children enjoy a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables for snacks. They also have daily opportunities for fresh air and exercise, including the use of the childminder's garden and trips to playgroups and farms. All these help to successfully support their physical well-being.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children behave well and form good relationships with others. For example, they share toys and pass objects to each other when role playing as superheroes. Older children talk confidently and use a good range of vocabulary. Younger children babble, repeat words and begin to join words to form sentences. Children develop a good understanding of mathematical concepts. For example, they can count, recognise numbers and use mathematical language in their play. Children gain useful skills for future learning.
