This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The manager does not monitor assessments of all children's progress accurately enough. This does not enable her to swiftly identify and address any gaps in their learning, in partnership with parents. The manager does not effectively coach, support and train staff to raise the quality of teaching practice to a consistently good level. Not all children make the best possible progress from their starting points. Staff are not consistently well deployed to meet children's individual needs. The manager does not precisely monitor activity planning and teaching practice to ensure that all children are fully challenged in their learning and development. The manager does not consistently use self-evaluation effectively to make continual improvements to children's care and learning.
p.1
It has the following strengths
The manager works effectively with staff and the local authority to protect children's welfare. She responds quickly to any concerns about children's well-being and safety. Children are happy, settled and well behaved. Staff form close emotional relationships with their key children. Children have access to a wide range of high-quality resources, indoors and outdoors, that motivates them to play independently.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To meet the requirements of the early years foundation stage and the Childcare Register the provider must:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed indoor and outdoor activities. The inspector completed joint observations with the nursery manager. The inspector talked with staff and children throughout the inspection. The inspector looked at a sample of documentation. The inspector took account of parents' views spoken to on the day of the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management requires improvement
Safeguarding is effective. The manager meets regularly with other early years providers, the local authority and staff to share current safeguarding information. Parents spoken to during the inspection identify they are happy with the nursery. However, the manager does not observe and monitor staff practice effectively enough. This does not help her to quickly identify and act on any under-performance and coach and train staff to improve their teaching practice to a consistently good level. Self-evaluation is not used effectively to continually improve the quality of children's learning. The manager does not precisely monitor all children's progress and swiftly identify gaps children's development. She does not seek early intervention for children who are delayed in their development, particularly those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who are learning English as an additional language. Pupil premium funding is not used highly effectively to
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment requires improvement
Most children make steady progress from their starting points. Children enjoy using climbing apparatus and jumping energetically onto large soft-play equipment in the garden. They enjoy learning new skills, such as concentrating well to use scissors to cut out pictures and make collages. Children enjoy exploring using their senses. They use their hands to explore various textures and develop their hand muscles, for example, as they use various tools to fill and pour from containers. However, staff do not always know how to use activities well to support children's learning and provide them with challenge. Some children are not reaching typical levels in all areas of their development.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare require improvement
Most children form close friendships. For example, they help others to use resources, such as the swing. However, staff do not help some children who need support to interact with others during their play to develop their social skills. Staff talk with children in a polite and positive way and provide children with a positive role model. However, some staff give children lots of instructions and do not always give them time to ask or answer questions to develop their learning further. As a result, some children play with resources silently and do not share what they know and understand. Staff promote children's good health effectively. For example, the nursery employs a chef who prepares a wide variety of nutritious snacks and meals that most children enjoy eating.
p.3
Outcomes for children require improvement
Most children develop the skills they need for starting school. However, some children are not reaching typical levels of development in some areas of their development. Children learn to do things for themselves. For instance, they hang up their coats and eagerly help with tasks, such as handing out cutlery at lunchtime. Children concentrate well, for example, while listening to their favourite stories in the outdoor play area.
