This provision is outstanding
The childminder has very quickly developed an outstanding service for children and their families. Partnerships at all levels are extremely strong. She works cooperatively with other practitioners and professionals and has developed her own unique practice which is worthy of dissemination. The childminder's teaching is exceptional. She provides spontaneous and planned experiences that are rich and challenging and fully support children's thought processes. Children make rapid progress from their starting points. They achieve beyond what is expected for their age and are extremely well prepared for the next stage in their learning, including school. Children's voices are given upmost priority by the childminder. She embraces their ideas and keenly encourages their developing independence. Children quickly develop a determination to do things for themselves. Children show that they feel very safe and secure in the childminder's care. She shows

high levels of warmth and engagement with children. She also makes sure that any changes to routines are carefully explained to maintain their emotional well-being. The childminder teaches children about the world around them. In particular, they sort, recycle and learn about different materials from packaging they have finished with.

continue to reflect thoughtfully and thoroughly on the already outstanding practice and maintain the very high standard of care and education for all children.

Inspection activities
The inspector looked around parts of the home used for childminding purposes. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact on children's learning. The inspector looked at a range of documents, including the childminder's self- evaluation form and evidence of suitability of adults living on the premises. The inspector jointly evaluated an activity with the childminder. The inspector took account of the views of parents provided through written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of potential risks to children's welfare. She knows what to do if she is worried about a child. Her policies and practices are robust and fully aligned to the local safeguarding board procedures. Risk assessments are thorough and prevalent risks are fully considered. The childminder reflects on her practice and has plans for development in place. She also reflects on new learning and keeps up to date with early years policy and practice.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The broad and rich experiences that the childminder provides capture children's interests, enthusiasm and motivation to learn even more. For example, children show their misunderstanding about why things melt. The childminder listens carefully to what they say and immediately acts on her observations. She quickly gives children the opportunity to watch ice melting outside in the sunshine. The childminder then skilfully questions children. They talk about the changes that they can see, such as holes appearing and it getting smaller. The childminder and children use the language of subtraction. For example, they comment that they had three pieces and that there are now two. At the same time, the childminder introduces new vocabulary, such as evaporation and challenges children's learning. The childminder is extremely well organised in her role. She uses ongoing observation and assessment extremely well to support excellent progress.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder has created a warm, sensitive environment which children fully embrace. They show that they feel at ease and in charge of their own learning and play. For example, children make their own choices, including when they make their own healthy lunch. The childminder uses this as an opportunity to teach even more about healthy food choices. Children spend sustained periods of time being physically active. Their behaviour is exemplary. They respond extremely well to calm reassurance and lots of meaningful praise which tells children exactly what they have done well.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children are highly motivated, engaged and show sustained levels of thinking in the setting. They are confident and willing to try new challenges. They match numerals to quantity using props around them. They show eagerness in everything that they do. Children are extremely tolerant with each other, waiting for their turn and exchanging resources. They can clearly explain what swapping is, demonstrating excellent communication and language skills. Children are meaningfully engaged and sing joyfully and spontaneously as they organise and tidy up after preparing their lunch.
