He also has an excellent awareness of how to protect children from extreme views. The childminder makes sure visitors are aware of safety procedures. For example, he requests that all visitors hand in their phone as they enter the house to safeguard children. He also ensures they are aware of escape routes in an emergency. Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder has an excellent understanding of how young children learn. He is highly motivated and enthusiastic in his teaching. He is continually planning a wide range of exciting learning opportunities that helps inspire children to learn. For example, outdoors, children help to plant many different varieties of vegetables. They are quick to identify and name each one correctly. Children also learn how to care for animals, such as the chickens kept by the childminder. They love to collect the eggs each day and often take them home to their parents. The childminder knows when to step in and ask probing questions to extend on children's learning even further. For example, when children assemble a jigsaw, he asks if they remember how best to start it and if they know to select the straight-edged pieces first.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Excellent relationships exist between both childminders and the children. Children trust them to help them when needed and this supports them effectively in developing high levels of confidence to try new things. Children are helpful when it comes to tidying up, for example, when it starts to rain they help to bring in items that cannot stay outdoors. Children have excellent opportunities to develop their physical skills and, overall, learn about healthy lifestyles. Parents are extremely happy and pleased with the achievements their children are making and mention how well they are eating now and how they are keen to try new tastes. The childminder is very skilled in understanding the importance of engaging children with the wider community. They regularly visit local parks and places of interest further afield, participate in group events and develop excellent social skills.
p.3

Children make rapid improvement in their communication and language development from their starting points. For example, they listen carefully to instructions and answer questions very confidently. Children develop extremely positive attitudes to learning. They are making excellent progress and are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage in their learning.
