Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder plans activities extremely well so that children are highly motivated and engaged. They have a very large range of delightful and appropriately selected resources to choose from and are extremely keen to choose their own toys to play with. The childminder carefully allows opportunities for children to play together and develop their social skills, while she observes the children and then skilfully intervenes to further support their outstanding development. For example, when singing nursery rhymes she carefully watches the children and weaves in both counting and literacy development opportunities at appropriate points during the activity.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children have a very effective understanding of the well-thought-out routines and procedures at the setting. For example, at snack time young children understand that they must sit in high chairs and have their hands washed. Young children are becoming increasingly independent feeding themselves at snack time. The children behave exceptionally well and have excellent relationships with each other. The childminder has developed the outdoor provision extremely well so that children can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children are making exceptional progress in all areas of their development and are extremely well prepared for their next stage of learning needed to be ready for school. They are highly independent to lead their own play and select activities which engage them. Children enjoy listening to nursery rhymes and demonstrate a lot of confidence to dance and move to the music. The childminder tracks the children's progress extremely well and shares this with parents regularly.
