This provision is good
The children enjoy playing and learning in their new wooden cabin. The childminder has provided plenty of accessible toys and resources for them to make choices about what they want to play with. They eagerly decide what to use and how to use it. The childminder monitors her assistants well. She provides support and guidance for their professional development. For example, she has helped them to communicate better with parents to share what children need to learn next, to enhance consistency in children's learning and development and help them achieve well. The childminder and her assistants regularly observe children as they are playing. They identify what children need to learn next and plan well for individual needs. The childminder is eager to continue improving the quality of care she provides. She uses feedback from parents, children and her assistants to help her with this. For example, she has provided more information for parents about what children do during

It is not yet outstanding because:
Sometimes children’s play is interrupted by routine activities. Children enjoy playing outdoors but are not always able to find enough shade to continue their learning comfortably.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of the teaching indoors and outdoors. The inspector took into account the views of parents through written testimonials read at the inspection. The inspector carried out a joint evaluation of children's learning with the childminder. The inspector spoke with the childminder, her assistants and the children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector looked at a sample of paperwork, including copies of children's learning and development journals, the childminder's risk assessments, complaints information, and her policies and procedures.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has made changes to her provision that benefit children's learning. She plans more improvements, such as enabling children to explore nature. The childminder makes sure that her assistants take advantage of professional development opportunities. For instance, recent training on observing children has helped them plan better for individual needs and interests. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder shares current guidance for keeping children safe with her assistants and parents. All assistants know how to act on concerns about a child's welfare.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The quality of teaching is good. The childminder and her assistants provide good opportunities for children to develop their communication skills. For example, they make up extra verses to favourite songs to include children's ideas. Children use their imaginations well. For instance, they use the stethoscope to listen to the assistant's heartbeat and pretend to give her an injection to make her better. The childminder and her assistants set up the learning environment well to provide choices for the children. For example, children move between digging in the sand, trying to turn on the tap in the mud kitchen, and pushing the pretend lawnmower up and down the grassy hill.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are taught about healthy lifestyles and choices. For example, at snack time, adults talk with them about good food choices and why they need to drink in the hot weather to stop them feeling ill. The childminder and her assistants are good role models for children. They give children attention and praise. For example, when children struggle to fix plastic noses onto the figure of a potato, the assistant's praise means they keep trying until they succeed. The childminder uses her assistants well to help teach children about the wider world. For example, they share songs and rhymes in different languages and bring in different food for the children to try. Children are prepared well for their future learning, including at pre-school and school.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children explore their environments well. For example, they experiment with foam wedges and other objects to see which ones will fly in the air flow from the fan. Children develop confidence and communicate with others; such as when they pretend to talk with parents on toy phones and invite adults to join in the conversation. Children enjoy splashing in the water tray and seeing what happens to toys stuck in ice as it melts in their hands. They develop good personal and hygiene skills. For example, they try to put on their shoes to go outdoors and they learn to wash their hands before eating and after blowing their noses.
