This provision is good
The childminder provides a highly stimulating environment with an excellent range of resources that motivates children's sense of play and exploration well overall. Children develop a positive sense of themselves. The childminder ensures that each child is nurtured, respected, and their individual achievements are celebrated. The childminder regularly assesses the children as they play and uses the information effectively to plan for their learning. Children make good progress in their learning. Partnerships with parents are strong. The childminder provides parents with good information about her setting and their children's care and development, to actively involve them in their children's learning. Children enjoy their learning. For example, they use binoculars and magnifying glasses to look for insects and bugs outside, and learn how they make things look bigger. The childminder continually evaluates her practice and seeks the views of her

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities and the interactions between the childminder and the children, and reviewed the play equipment and resources. The inspector spoke with the childminder and her assistants at appropriate times during the inspection, including to discuss the impact of teaching after viewing activities. The inspector viewed the areas of the premises used for childminding and talked to the children at appropriate times. The inspector looked at documentation, including a sample of children's records. The inspector discussed with the childminder how she evaluates her provision.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has a professional approach to her work. She knows the strengths of her setting, which helps her to identify ways she can develop further. For example, she uses learning from training on basic signing skills to aid children's communication skills. The childminder monitors her assistants' practice well to ensure that all children receive good- quality care and support. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure knowledge of safeguarding issues and the procedures to follow if she has any concerns. She teaches children about risks in the environment. For example, children help check for any hazards in the play areas and develop an awareness of how to keep themselves safe.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has a good understanding of how to support children's learning and development. She uses this knowledge well overall to plan enjoyable and interesting play activities. For example, young children have fun exploring the texture of sand and water, and show perseverance as they transport water between containers. The childminder adds new resources for children to use to follow their interests. Older children use their imaginations well. For example, they have fun making a train from crates and show great excitement as they pretend to go on a journey to look for animals. The childminder's assistants join in the play to encourage conversation, for example, to help build on the children's language skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children flourish in the childminder's care. The childminder and her assistants know the children extremely well. They are kind and caring, and their ongoing encouragement and praise continually boost children's confidence and self-esteem. Children behave well. They are helpful towards each other and play together cooperatively. The childminder provides a wide range of activities for children to learn about people and communities. For example, children visit a local shop that sells Polish produce and enjoy tasting the different foods for their lunch. Children have daily opportunities to play with an extensive variety of high-quality resources that motivates them to learn. The childminder makes good use of her garden and nearby parks, as part of ensuring that children are active, enjoy fresh air and have lots of fun.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are happy and motivated to learn. They learn good skills for the future and their move on to school. For example, older children help to chop the fruit at snack time and confidently count how many pieces they have on their plates. Children have access to a variety of mark-making resources to help develop their early writing skills.
