This provision is good
Staff know children very well and understand how they learn and develop. Each child's needs are individually planned for and their key person closely monitors their learning. All children are making good progress from their starting points. Parents are fully involved in the setting. Children's learning is shared with them regularly and in a variety of ways. Parents are highly complimentary of staff and the activities that are offered to children. Staff have created strong bonds and attachments with children. They ensure they feel safe and meet their emotional needs well. Children are all very settled and enjoy attending the setting. Staff have created good partnerships with the local authority advisers. They listen to advice and guidance given and have a positive attitude to continuous improvement. Children are developing an understanding of leading healthy lifestyles. Staff promote healthy eating and regular exercise each day. They encourage children to be active.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector had a tour of the setting. The inspector spoke with staff, children and parents during the inspection and took account of their views. The inspector completed a joint observation with the setting manager. The inspector held a meeting with the setting manager and the committee chairperson. She looked at relevant documentation and evidence of the suitability of staff working in the setting.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The premises are safe and secure and staff check the identification of visitors before allowing them into the setting. Parents and children are greeted on arrival and the door to the classroom is secure. Staff understand their responsibilities to safeguard children from harm and regularly update their safeguarding knowledge. In addition, policies and procedures are detailed and underpin staff's knowledge. Staff have created good links with other professionals who support children, such as speech and language therapists and health visitors. They invite professionals into the setting and work cooperatively with parents and professionals to support children's development.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
All staff are well qualified and use their knowledge and understanding well. They plan for children's individual learning needs and set challenging next steps. Gaps in children's learning are quickly identified and are closing. Staff support and extend children's learning well. For instance, when children enthuse in completing a jigsaw of the human body, staff use the opportunity to talk about the different body parts and the importance of the brain and muscles. Daily routines are also used to incorporate learning. For example, staff count out plates and cups with children at snack time. Children choose the environment they wish to play in either indoors or outdoors. Staff give them plenty of space to play and learn.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children enjoy physical exercise. The excitedly perform dancing routines and invite staff to join in moving with them. Children play well together. They have made friendship groups and are learning to be kind and caring. Staff promote positive behaviour and teach children to respect each other. Children thoroughly enjoy their time in the setting and parents comment that children even want to attend on days the setting is closed. Staff are approachable and friendly. They liaise with parents about children's individual needs. Daily discussions at the start and end of each session enable a two-way flow of information to be shared.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Staff understand how to prepare children for their next stage of learning and school. Children are confident and have high levels of self-esteem. They are beginning to solve problems and persist at tasks until they complete them. Older children enjoy making marks and are developing early literacy skills. They sit for short periods of time to learn in groups and follow routines. Children engage in activities and are motivated to learn.
