Children learn to take turns to talk and to respond to other people's conversations. The childminder works positively in partnership with parents to implement consistent and continuous practices to support children's ongoing care and development. The childminder has a professional attitude towards continuously improving her service for children and their families. She evaluates how effective she is and makes changes when weaknesses are identified. Children play with an extensive range of resources, toys and equipment inside and outdoors that supportss their play and learning very well. The childminder knows the children extremely well and provides a personal, individual service for parents, according to children's needs and parent's' wishes.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and learning indoors and outdoors. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children. The inspector carried out a joint observation with the childminder and discussed the impact on children's learning. The inspector viewed documentation, including evidence of the suitability of adults living or working on the premises. The inspector took account of parents' views by reading their written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has up-to-date knowledge of the procedures to follow if she has a concern about a child in her care. The childminder carries out rigorous checks to provide children with a safe and secure environment in which to play. The childminder attends regular training. She also uses information gained through research on forums and the internet, to learn about the latest practice and skills to support children's care and development.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Teaching is effective. The childminder is very aware of how children learn. She uses her skills and knowledge to provide experiences that support children to make good progress in all aspects of their learning. The childminder is encouraging and enthusiastic in her approach. For example, when she notices a young baby attempting to crawl she calls their name and claps and cheers when they move a few paces towards her. The childminder uses a successful assessment programme to identify children's current stages of development and to plan for their next steps. She works with parents and offers them ideas and suggestions to help them support children's learning at home. She uses information from parents to establish a full picture of children's achievements as part of her regular progress checks.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are encouraged to share and take turns through positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviour. The childminder praises children for showing a caring attitude towards others. She celebrates individual children's differences and recognises their strengths and different personalities. Children are encouraged to respect and value each other, through discussion and planned activities. Children's physical well-being is positively promoted. Children learn to follow appropriate hygiene practices and are encouraged to eat healthily. The childminder provides children with play experiences outside each day and encourages an understanding of a healthy lifestyle.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are making good progress from their individual starting points. Any gaps in their learning are closing quickly. Children are well prepared for the next stage in their learning. They build successfully on their interests and skills. Young babies enjoy outdoor play and are learning to move their bodies. They react very positively to the childminder's soothing singing voice and listen carefully to the sounds around them, such as birdsong.
