This provision is good
The childminder and her assistants accurately evaluate the overall quality of their provision. They are ambitious to develop further and work well as a team. The childminder and her assistants create a warm and welcoming environment. They form strong bonds with the children, who settle in quickly and become confident learners. Children are motivated by well-planned activities that stimulate their imagination. For example, they enjoy pretending to iron clothes and fold them carefully away. Children achieve well. The childminder accurately assesses the progress children make and plans well for the next steps in their learning. Children are well behaved. The childminder and her assistants set a good example through their gentle and considerate manner towards the children. Relationships with parents are good. Parents feel well informed and appreciate the care and guidance the childminder provides.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
On occasion, the childminder's intervention in children's play interrupts their concentration and learning. The assistants do not always recognise when to provide more time for children to think and respond to questions and consistently extend their learning to the highest levels.

consider more carefully when to allow children time to independently explore and think through their ideas increase the support for assistants to continually develop their skills and knowledge to help them to recognise how to extend children's learning as fully as possible.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and her assistants. She looked at relevant documentation and evidence of the suitability of persons living and working in the household. The inspector spoke to children during the inspection. The inspector took account of the views of parents through written feedback provided.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The experienced childminder has a strong drive to build on the quality of her provision and, overall, works closely with her assistants to discuss plans for future developments. For example, she has established home learning journals so that parents can be more heavily involved in their children's learning by adding information about home experiences. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Robust policies underpin the childminder's good practice and promote children's well-being and safety. The childminder ensures her assistants have an up-to-date knowledge of first aid and child protection, including how to protect those who may be at risk from extreme views or behaviours.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder creates a warm and encouraging environment where children are welcomed and are keen to play and learn. For example, children have full access to many colourful and attractive toys and books in the well-planned playroom. The childminder helps children to settle quickly into positive routines that help them feel secure and confident. Motivating and well-resourced activities, such as planting flowers, exploring craft materials and using construction toys, stimulate children's interest and concentration. The childminder and her assistants teach children to play and learn together. For example, they work together to create several types of houses with construction blocks and play figures, using a good range of creative and design skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children respond well to the constant care and attention the childminder provides. They are supervised well when they play and sleep. Younger children form secure attachments and show they are happy and settled in the childminder's home. Older children enjoy their time with their friends. Children's behaviour is good. Clear rules and expectations support positive behaviour and children show concern for others. The childminder promotes children's knowledge and understanding of healthy lifestyles and good hygiene procedures. For example, she helps children to make healthy choices, to try new foods and to be physically active.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children develop a good range of skills and attitudes to help them become ready for school. Children's early reading skills develop well. For example, children enjoy following the pictures in stories they know well. They express strong preferences for their favourite books. Children develop their counting skills well and learn to order objects by shape, colour and size.
