This provision is good
Children make good progress in their learning. The childminder monitors their development effectively over time and plans well for each child's next stage in learning. The childminder monitors the quality of her setting well. She reflects on the views of her assistant, children and parents in her ongoing evaluations. She has successfully acted upon recommendations set at the last inspection to maintain a good quality provision. For example, she now makes better use of her local community to help develop children's understanding of the wider world. Partnerships with parents are strong and the childminder collaborates with them to share children's achievements regularly. She understands the importance of linking with others professionals involved with children's care to provide consistency in their learning and experiences. Children behave well at all times. The childminder and her assistant are kind and

nurturing to children's emotional needs. Children form close bonds with both adults.

It is not yet outstanding because:
Although the childminder plans lively and exciting group activities, sometimes these are too long to fully maintain the youngest children's interests. On occasion, the childminder does not support children to follow their own interests fully. For example, she sometimes interrupts their child-initiated role-play activities, so that children all use the garden area together.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children's learning and the childminder's and her assistant's teaching during a range of activities. The inspector spoke with the childminder and her assistant at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector looked at a sample of documentation, including the childminder's policies and the children's learning records. The inspector checked evidence relating to the childminder's and her assistant's suitability to work with children, and reviewed parents' written feedback made available during the inspection. The inspector carried out a joint observation with the childminder.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a confident understanding of her responsibility to keep children safe and supports her assistant to gain knowledge of safeguarding issues. There are clear child protection policies and procedures in place, which are followed effectively. The childminder has made sure her staff are suitably vetted to maintain children's welfare effectively. She values the importance of getting her and her staff's skills and knowledge up to date to improve outcomes for children. For example, she attends relevant training and supports her assistant through ongoing supervision and mentoring. The childminder is quick to identify any potential gaps in children's learning and closes them quickly in collaboration with their parents.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder is enthusiastic and interacts skilfully with children. In general, she plans activities to support their individual learning effectively. For example, she provides a range of magnetic resources to reflect a child's interest in using magnets. The childminder and her assistant help children to gain good physical skills. For example, children develop control of their large muscles on the swings and climbing frame, and build confidence in pedalling small bikes. The childminder helps children to develop their language skills and supports communication in their home language well. For example, she sings to children in Hebrew. The childminder reflects on children's skills and has a firm knowledge of their development, which she shares with parents.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder and her assistant create a welcoming and friendly environment, where children feel safe and secure. The childminder supports children to develop an understanding of leading a healthy lifestyle and provides a range of healthy and nutritious foods. The childminder helps children to become independent and confident. For example, children begin to feed themselves well from a young age and make choices about food they like. Children have opportunities to be active and explore. For example, they go on trips to the local park and explore sand and water in the childminder's garden. The childminder and her assistant make sure the environment is safe. They use a thorough risk assessment process to help identify and prevent dangers to children.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are happy and show curiosity. They develop small-muscle skills well. For example, children enjoy completing intricate shape puzzles. Older children develop an interest in books and begin to enjoy mathematical tasks. Younger children try things for themselves and are keen to tackle self-care tasks. Children make good progress from their starting points and gain many key skills they need for pre-school and for school.
