This provision is good
The childminder makes good evaluations of her provision. She listens to her assistants, parents and children to help make constructive changes that benefit the children. For example, she purchased toys to develop children's imaginative play. Children make good progress. The childminder has strong partnerships with parents and staff at other settings that children attend. The new online system for monitoring children's development has enhanced the sharing of information with parents and helped them to be more involved in their children's development. The childminder and her assistants are good role models for children. Children behave well and understand how to respect each other's feelings and ideas. Children form good relationships with the childminder and her assistants. They freely share their thoughts and ideas with other children and play well together. The childminder monitors and supports her assistants' professional development well.
p.1
This provision is good
For example, a recent course on how to use their online observation and assessment system helps them to monitor and track children's progress better.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Sometimes, the childminder and assistants do not make the most of opportunities to extend children's understanding of eating healthy foods. On occasion, some daily routines are not effectively organised and interrupt children's enjoyment and concentration.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of the childminder and assistants' teaching in the home. The inspector took into account the views of parents through parent responses to questionnaires. The inspector spoke with the childminder, assistants and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector reviewed a sample of paperwork, including policies and procedures, self- evaluation, and children's records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder and her assistants reflect well on the experiences they provide for children and make positive changes. For example, they reviewed the garden area to improve children's play and learning experiences. They created a space for physical activities, including slides, see-saws and climbing equipment. The childminder regularly attends a range of training and understands her responsibility to make sure that her assistants keep their knowledge of child development and child protection up to date. They have all attended training and understand the childminder's policies and procedures. The childminder and her assistants all know how to act should they have any concerns about a child's welfare. Safeguarding is effective.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder and her assistants encourage children's interest in books and help them to make good progress in their communication and language. For example, they sit with children and ask them questions about what they can see on the pages and what might happen next. The childminder and her assistants support children's early writing skills well. For example, they encourage children to make marks in foam and talk about the different shapes they make. This helps children to link letters with their sounds and shapes, and recognise letters in their name.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder provides a good range of opportunities for children to practise their physical skills. For example, they plan daily outdoor play, where children can run, jump or balance on large play equipment. Children have warm, secure relationships with the childminder and her assistants. She helps children to settle well, for example, by finding out about their home care routines and incorporating these into her practice. She provides children with a wide range of experiences to help them understand others' feelings. For instance, they use different facial expressions to teach young children how to recognise and react to a range of emotions.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress. They are confident and motivated to learn. Children guide themselves independently to activities of their choice. They follow actions in nursery songs well and learn new words. Children learn how to count and recognise numbers during daily routines and play. For example, they count the number of pieces of fruit they eat at snack time and use their fingers to count when singing songs. Children develop a range of useful skills to support their future learning.
