p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not have a secure understanding of current safeguarding guidance and legislation. For example, she does not have an in-depth awareness of the possible signs that may indicate a child is at risk of significant harm, including extreme views and behaviours.  The childminder understands how to observe and assess children's progress in order to identify and close any gaps in learning. However, she does not have a clear understanding of when to complete the progress check at age two as required.  The childminder knows how to provide suitable challenging activities across all areas of learning to help all children make progress from their starting points.  The childminder understands the importance of working closely with parents to support children's care and learning needs. She has required policies and procedures in place, including for managing complaints and shares these with parents.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder is aware of the need to risk assess her play areas and supervise children well to help keep them safe. She understands how to manage children's behaviour positively, such as, through effective explanations and distractions.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
