This monitoring visit

This visit was in response to concerns shared with Ofsted about poor recruitment practice in the home, and that staff were concerned about these arrangements in relation to safeguarding children and young people.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Recruitment records demonstrate that a recently appointed interim manager had not been recruited in line with regulatory requirements. The appointment of a senior member of staff without full and satisfactory checks compromises the safety of children and young people. Furthermore, the recruitment records do not demonstrate how the responsible individual considered the person to be a suitable candidate to fulfil a leadership role within the home.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Additional concerns raised with Ofsted were considered during the inspection and no regulatory breaches were identified. Members of the staff team spoken to during the visit did not share any concerns in relation to staff members working at the home or the practice they had observed.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Recruitment practice has previously been identified as a requirement and is currently subject to a compliance notice following the full inspection carried out on 30 and 31 January 2017.
