This provision is good
The caring and attentive childminder forms close bonds with the children in her care. She is always near to provide support and reassurance, and anticipates their needs well. Children benefit from good support for their emotional development and enjoy taking part in the activities on offer. Support for children's learning is strong. The childminder is experienced in childcare and understands how children learn through play. She uses her knowledge and skills successfully to help children make good progress from their starting points. The childminder monitors children's learning effectively. She accurately assesses their current stages of development and plans interesting activities that help them to achieve their next steps. Children have opportunities to be physically active on walks and visits to the local parks. The childminder provides a good range of resources in all areas of her home to

support children's good movement and coordination.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not consistently provide opportunities for children to see examples of print in the environment, to build further on their good early reading skills. The childminder does not consistently gain the views of parents to help her build on her good systems for self-evaluation and further improve outcomes for children.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder engaged in activities with children. The inspector spoke to the childminder at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector checked documentation, including the register, insurance and training certificates. The inspector and the childminder observed children taking part in activities and discussed their progress. The inspector took account of the views of children during the inspection and of parents in their written comments.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is vigilant about the signs that might cause her to have concerns about a child's welfare. She knows the correct procedures to follow in order to keep children safe from harm. Since the last inspection, the childminder has made good improvements to address previous recommendations. Partnerships with other providers and parents are now effective in providing a more consistent approach to children's learning and development. The childminder keeps her knowledge and skills up to date, to benefit the children in her care. For example, she improves her understanding of how to work with outside agencies to support children who need extra help. All children are able to take part in activities so that they reach their full potential.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder supports children well in their communication and language development. She encourages their conversations well, to help them learn new words and extend their sentences effectively. Children have opportunities to choose their own resources and they enjoy sharing and retelling their favourite stories. The childminder carefully listens to children, skilfully prompts them and gives them encouragement and praise. Children develop good self-esteem. The childminder interacts positively with children during play, joins in with their pretend games and extends their learning. For example, she encourages children's role play, makes suggestions and adds resources to successfully support their imaginative play.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are safe and well cared for in the childminder's welcoming and comfortable home. The childminder provides a stimulating environment for children to explore. She organises resources effectively to help children make their own choices and develop their interests and ideas. Children behave well and learn to share and take turns during activities. The childminder is a good role model and treats children with consideration so that they understand what is expected of them. Children become independent, manage their own personal care needs well and follow good hygiene routines.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are sociable and become confident communicators. For example, they describe their experiences and talk about their likes and dislikes, as they use a wide vocabulary. They gain the skills necessary for future learning and the move on to school. For example, children count and identify shapes competently as they complete puzzles and games. Children develop good mathematical vocabulary and skills. They enjoy activities and become motivated learners.
