This provision is good
Since her last inspection, the childminder has made positive improvements and now carefully plans activities to encourage children's individual next steps in learning. She supervises her assistants and ensures they develop their knowledge and skills and understand their safeguarding role. The childminder interacts with children effectively. She successfully helps all children build on what they know and can do. Children make good progress. Children demonstrate a strong sense of security and enjoy warm and close relationships with the childminder, who gives them a lot of time and attention. The childminder promotes a healthy lifestyle. Children enjoy nutritious, freshly prepared and cooked food each day, and opportunities for physical activity and rest. She enables them to feel comfortable and enjoy their day. The childminder evaluates her provision effectively to make continuous improvements

Inspection activities
The inspector toured the premises and reviewed the resources with the childminder. The inspector read and considered the comments of parents. The inspector observed the childminder's interactions with children and discussed the effectiveness of some of the activities with her. The inspector discussed the childminder's self-evaluation process with her. The inspector reviewed a sample of relevant documents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a clear knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures and the action she would take if concerned for a child's welfare. She has recently refreshed her skills and knowledge about safeguarding. The childminder is dedicated to her role and strives for continuous improvement. She makes good use of information from organisations dedicated to early years care and learning, to develop her skills. Effective partnerships with parents and professionals involved in children's lives help to promote continuity in the children's care. Parents are exceptionally happy with the nurturing environment the childminder provides and state their children make good progress in her care.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder sits at the children's level, makes eye contact with them and skilfully supports them in their play. She plans resources and activities that she knows will interest and challenge them. For example, she encourages matching, counting and colour recognition in addition to physical coordination, as children play with balloons. Children experiment with tools in the dough and demonstrate increasing coordination of their small hand and finger movements, ready for future writing. The childminder supports their communication and language skills. For example, she models language and pronounces words clearly.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder recognises children's individuality. They relate well to the childminder and her assistant and enjoy cuddles. Children confidently seek and receive the adults' attention. The childminder encourages the children to learn good hygiene routines, such as cleaning their hands before eating. Children behave well. The childminder provides consistent behavioural expectations and is a positive role model. She encourages children to learn about the world around them. For example, they enjoy outings to local parks and activities in the community. Children learn about safe behaviours, such as road safety.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children develop the skills to help prepare them for the next stage of their learning at nursery or school. They learn to listen to others and share their ideas. They develop good early writing skills as they draw and make marks with crayons. They start to recognise that writing has meaning as they select their names on the registration board. Children learn to share and take turns, and to look after the resources. They develop their exploratory skills as they talk about the smells and textures of different resources. They show a good ability to share their feelings, for example, as they talk to others.
