Inspection activities
The inspector held discussions with the childminder, her assistant and children. She looked at relevant documentation, such as children's assessment records and planning documentation. The inspector observed play and learning opportunities for children and undertook a joint observation of an activity with the childminder. The inspector looked at policies and procedures, as well as evidence of qualifications and the suitability of household members and adults working with children. The inspector took account of the written views of parents and those spoken to during the inspection. The inspector discussed self-evaluation and how the views of parents and children are included to drive improvement. The inspector viewed areas of the childminder's home used for childminding and also the premises that the childminder uses during term time.
