This monitoring visit
This visit was undertaken to review the actions that senior leaders have taken since the previous monitoring visit on 30 November 2016. At the full inspection on 5 September 2016, the home was judged as inadequate and the registration of the home was suspended. The suspension was extended again on 19 October 2016, and removed after the monitoring visit on 30 November 2016. The provider closed the home temporarily, advising Ofsted that he did not have plans to re-open the home until he had recruited and inducted a new staff team. At this monitoring visit, the inspector found that the building work carried out at the home had been completed, but that the redecoration of some of the bedrooms was still in progress. Since the last monitoring visit, the home has been used to provide short-term accommodation for a young person from one of the provider’s other children’s homes. The young person was cared for by staff from that home and stayed for

one week. Despite the ongoing redecoration, the home was of an appropriate standard to accommodate the young person. The responsible individual informed Ofsted of this arrangement. This short-term placement has now ceased. Ofsted has requested an update from the senior leaders about their intentions and timescales to re-open the home.
