This provision is good
Children have extremely warm and close relationships with the childminder. They settle quickly, develop exceptionally high levels of confidence and respect for each other. From a very young age, children negotiate and find resolutions to problems for themselves. Children learn through activities that they fully enjoy. The childminder skilfully plans a range of learning experiences that support children's learning in all areas. All children make good progress. The childminder has developed good relationships with parents and schools, which helps to maintain consistency in children's learning and care. Parents are very happy with the services provided and the progress their children make. Children have excellent opportunities to play outside, learn about the local and wider community and develop exceptional social skills.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, children do not have enough opportunities to experiment, explore and use a range of materials to fully extend their creativity and design skills. Sometimes, the childminder does not use strategies to help some children understand why they should cooperate during daily routines, for example, at lunchtime.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities and the childminder's interaction with children indoors and outdoors throughout the inspection. The inspector sampled the childminder's observation records, planning and assessment documents, and looked at the registration records. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's suitability to work with children and sampled some of her policies and procedures. The inspector held conversations with the childminder, children and some parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a clear knowledge and understanding of any child protection concerns. She knows what procedures to follow to keep children safe. Self-evaluation is good. The childminder has addressed all the recommendations from the previous inspection and demonstrates a strong commitment to providing high-quality provision. She has completed a formal childcare qualification, which has had a positive impact on children's learning experiences. The childminder continues to develop her knowledge effectively, for example, by attending training courses and events.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder knows children well and uses observations of children's learning to plan experiences that match their needs and address their next steps. Children are interested and motivated. For example, they use public transport maps, learn about train lines and different types of trains. The childminder carefully checks children's progress and takes prompt action to address any weaker areas. Children are active learners who confidently explore and follow their own ideas. They engage well, and the childminder skilfully supports their curiosity and interests. For example, children enjoy exploring the veins and lines on real leaves when looking at them under torchlight.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder provides a calm, welcoming and safe environment. She has developed extremely effective settling-in procedures to help children settle. The childminder takes time to know children and understand what interests them and motivates their learning. She uses home visits very effectively to find out about their own routines and nurtures their move. The childminder is an excellent role model to children. From a very young age, children are extremely polite and caring about their friends and environment. For example, children remind the childminder to put away resources that they have finished playing with in the park. Children follow excellent hygiene routines. For example, even in the park children wash their hands before having food. Children have lots of opportunities to learn about diversity in the wider community and how to keep themselves safe. For example, children know and follow road rules, such as when to wait or cross the road.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress from their starting points. Their communication and language skills develop well. Children confidently ask questions and use correct grammar when talking with the childminder and each other. They are independent learners and make choices in their play. Children develop the skills needed for their next stages in learning and their eventual move to school. For example, they have opportunities to learn mathematical terminology and practise early writing skills through mark making.
