Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder has a very secure understanding of how children learn and develop. For example, she skilfully challenges children's mathematical learning by spontaneously introducing it into their play and adult-led activities that offer excellent hands-on experiences for them to solve problems, such as identifying how many buns they will make and how to share these out equally. The childminder helps children to make excellent progress towards their next steps in learning, but she occasionally misses opportunities to extend their early reading skills further. Children communicate and express themselves extremely effectively, very confidently sharing their thoughts and ideas, and contributing to conversations.

Children respond exceptionally well to the childminder's firm but fair guidance to cooperate, and maintain harmonious and enjoyable play.

They are highly motivated and keen to learn. Children ask questions, make suggestions and celebrate one another's achievements.
