The provision meets requirements
Since the last inspection the childminder has implemented further ways to engage parents in children's learning from the outset. She has gained support through the local children's centre, where she attends regular network meetings. The childminder has a secure knowledge and understanding of the learning and development requirements of the early years foundation stage. She is aware of the different ways children learn and explains how she intends to provide learning opportunities indoors and outdoors to meet their individual needs. The childminder appropriately explains how to promote children's safety and welfare. For example, she carries out daily risk assessments on the premises to help ensure that her home remains secure. She details her strict policy on the use of mobile phones and plans to prohibit internet access for any visitors. The childminder is aware of her responsibility to protect children from harm or abuse.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
She has refreshed her knowledge of child protection issues and knows the procedures to follow if she has any concerns about children's welfare. The childminder understands how to promote children's well-being, encourage positive behaviour and teach children to respect and value each other. She describes suitable activities she can provide for children to help promote their healthy lifestyles, such as regular access to exercise through trips to the local park and attending dance classes. The childminder recognises the importance of working in partnership with parents and other early years providers, in order to support continuity in children's individual care and prepare them for future learning. The requirements of the Childcare Register are not met. The childminder has not written or made available to parents a statement of the complaints procedures.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
