This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The provider has not implemented an effective system to provide the manager with regular training, support and coaching. In addition, the manager has not completed supervision meetings with all staff to help them develop their practice further. The provider has not ensured that all staff are clear about their responsibility to share information about anything that may affect their suitability to care for children. Self-evaluation is not used effectively to identify weaknesses in practice, including breaches of the legal requirements, to help raise outcomes for children.
p.1
It has the following strengths
Children are emotionally secure. They form positive relationships with staff and other children. Children play happily with their friends. Staff monitor children's achievements regularly. All children, including those who have special educational needs or disability and those who are learning English as an additional language, make good progress in relation to their starting points. Partnerships with parents are good. Staff share a wide range of information with them. For example, they provide ideas to help parents continue their children's learning at home. Staff make effective use of additional funding. For example, they provide resources to support children who need extra help to catch up. Staff work with other professionals when required to help provide consistency in children's learning and care.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and assessed the impact this had on children's learning. The inspector checked evidence of staff's qualifications and children's learning records. The inspector spoke to parents on the day and took their views into account. The inspector completed a joint observation with the manager and spoke to staff and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector spoke to members of the committee.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management requires improvement
The provider has not made all staff aware of their responsibility to share information about anything that may affect their suitability to care for children. However, staff have a suitable understanding of child protection and what they must do if they have any concerns about children's safety or welfare. Safeguarding is effective. The provider does not provide effective support and coaching for the manager to help her develop her practice. The manager has begun to implement systems to provide staff with opportunities for training, support and coaching. However, these are not fully established. Self- evaluation is not used effectively to accurately monitor practice and identify weaknesses.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff have a good understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them. They engage children in meaningful conversations and ask questions to help extend their vocabulary. For example, staff ask children which building is tallest and smallest. Staff provide a wide range of opportunities for children to be creative and play together. For example, children enjoy being imaginative in the home corner with their friends. Staff encourage children's awareness of the differences between themselves and others well. For example, they encourage parents to share their cultural festivals and customs with children. This helps children to learn that everyone is different and valued.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare require improvement
Children form positive emotional bonds with staff. They are happy, confident and receive effective support to develop appropriate independence skills. For example, children learn to take care of their own personal care routines. Staff understand children's moods and personalities and are attentive to their needs. However, the weakness in staff's knowledge of what information they must share to ensure their ongoing suitability does not fully support children's well-being. Staff encourage children's physical development effectively. For example, children learn to balance on the beam and move about on the play equipment, such as wheeled toys.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are well prepared for their next stages of learning, including the move to school. They follow instructions well and listen attentively. Children freely use a range of mathematical concepts. For example, they count the pieces of fruit they cut up for snack time. Children are motivated, curious and eager to take part. For example, they wait patiently while an object is removed from under the cloth and then take it in turns to try and identify what is missing.
