This provision is good
The leaders and managers of the setting have made significant progress at addressing the issues raised at the last inspection. Parents now play an active role in their child's learning and development within the setting. Staff share ideas for extending children's learning at home. This provides continuity in their care and learning. Staff use their observations and assessments of children to plan effectively for their individual learning needs. This ensures that activities are sharply focused and challenging and children make good progress. Staff work in partnership with parents and other early years professionals. Clear boundaries and expectations with regard to behaviour are in place. Children receive lots of praise and positive reinforcement to promote their good behaviour. Children who speak English as an additional language are supported extremely well. Staff value and celebrate their different languages and these are reflected throughout

the environment. They encourage children to use and share their home language with all of the children, broadening their awareness of differences. Children play in a safe and secure environment. Staff assess the environment each day to ensure it remains safe and suitable for children. Resources are well maintained and stored at a low level, enabling children to make informed choices with regard to their play.

It is not yet outstanding because:
Opportunities for children to gain a wider understanding of technology and making toys work in different ways are not yet established. They are fewer opportunities for children to become aware of the living and natural world when outdoors.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities in all of the indoor play areas, the outside learning environment and conducted a joint observation with the nursery manager. The inspector held a meeting with the nursery manager and the provider of the provision. She spoke to staff and children throughout the inspection when appropriate. The inspector looked at children's assessment and planning documentation, the setting's risk assessments and safety records. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff working within the setting, the provider's process for self-evaluation and a range of other documentation. The inspector took account the views of parents spoken to on the day and by reading a number of comments from parents obtained by the manager.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The management and staff are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities with regard to protecting children from abuse and neglect. They are knowledgeable about the signs of abuse and the procedures to follow should they have any concerns about a child. Clear routines are in place for the recruitment of staff, which includes ensuring their suitability to work within the nursery. Effective systems for the appraisal and monitoring of practice have been instrumental in the development of the knowledge and skills within the staff team. Training opportunities are welcomed. Staff use their newly found knowledge to enrich their practice and the service provided. The views of parents and other professionals who access the nursery are regularly sought. These views are used, alongside those of management and staff, to continually develop and enhance the service provided.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Activities take into account children's interests and ideas and staff listen carefully to what children have to tell them. Children enjoy a variety of activities that challenge, interest and motivate them to learn. Babies are supported well to become mobile and explore their environment. Books are used effectively throughout the nursery with children of all ages. Children's love of role play is nurtured. They enjoy making lists, writing receipts and using pretend equipment. They re-enact familiar events, such as a visit to the hairdresser's. Older children learn about how water changes when placed somewhere cold. For example, children learn how to make ice cubes. As they play, the ice cubes melt revealing the pretend animals that staff have hidden inside them, much to the delight of the children.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are happy, settled and form close attachments with staff. Staff spend time talking to parents at the start of their child's placement, gathering lots of information about their child. Staff use the information effectively to personalise the care and ensure children's individual routines are incorporated into the day. Children's self-esteem and confidence are nurtured. Staff acknowledge children's achievements and give them lots of praise and encouragement. Children rest and sleep according to their needs, while staff enhance children's feeling of relaxation by playing calming music as they rest. Meals are healthy and nutritious. Toddlers and pre-school children are supported to develop their independence as they serve their own food. Children enjoy lots of physical activity. They develop coordination and control as they climb, use wheeled equipment and move their bodies to music.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in their learning and development. They use various materials as they learn to be creative. Children enjoy seeing their artwork displayed. This helps to promote their self-esteem. Children develop a good awareness of the wider world and diversity. They learn about cultural events and celebrations from around the world.
