This provision is good
The childminder has improved her knowledge effectively since her last inspection. This has helped her to develop the activities and resources she offers to meet the needs of the children in her care. Children settle quickly into the childminder's care. They bond well with the childminder and build good relationships with her family, helping them to feel comfortable and ready to explore their surroundings. The childminder builds strong partnerships with parents and keeps them well informed about the activities she provides. She shares information and ideas for activities with parents and other settings that children attend. This helps her to ensure that children's interests are supported and that they enjoy their learning and stay motivated. The childminder evaluates the resources and activities she provides. She takes into account the views of parents and children when reflecting on her provision. The

It is not yet outstanding because:
Children are not always fully prepared to accept unforeseen changes to their activities and routines. The childminder has not analysed her programme of training to enhance her continuous professional development and build more confidence in her practice.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning and involvement. The inspector observed and evaluated a planned activity with the childminder. The inspector held a meeting with the childminder and spoke to children. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as self-evaluation, evidence of suitability and qualifications, attendance records and policies and procedures. The inspector took account of the views of parents by speaking with them during the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder provides a learning environment that effectively meets the needs of children of different ages. She has a good understanding of the requirements of the early years foundation stage and how children learn through their play and well-planned experiences. She uses skills gained through her work with children in schools and nurseries to help her provide activities that are fun, support children's interests and complement their learning. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder is fully aware of her responsibilities to protect the children in her care. She is familiar with the local authority procedures and regularly updates her knowledge. The childminder conducts regular fire evacuation procedures with the children and teaches them what they should do if an emergency occurs. She carries out risk assessments of her premises and during local outings. She teaches children about hazards and how to keep

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children have free access to good quality resources that support their creativity and imagination. The childminder continually refreshes and rotates her resources to ensure that children have a good variety of toys and books to maintain their interest. Children learn how magnets work and how construction pieces fit together. They find out about history and the wider world as they make a toy pyramid. Children are encouraged to be physically active. The childminder provides sports activities in her garden and they visit local parks after school. Children are enthusiastic in their play and express a desire to learn. The childminder supports their thirst for knowledge by providing activities that challenge and intrigue them. For example, children thoroughly enjoy searching through letters in water to spell out their name. They match shapes and colours. They pour water between containers that hold different amounts and learn about volume.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder gets to know the children well. She understands their preferences and urges them to try different things. For example, she encourages children to learn about and try different vegetables to eat. The childminder supports children's independence when appropriate for their age. She helps them learn skills, such as doing up their zips. She helps them to learn good hygiene practices. They know they must wash their hands after play and before eating. The childminder prepares freshly cooked meals for the children. They learn to socialise with her family at the dinner table and they hold conversations. The childminder is a good role model and teaches the children to respect each other and display good manners. She sets clear and consistent boundaries to encourage positive behaviour, helping children to feel safe and confident. Children find out about the world through books and activities. The childminder teaches children that all the

toys are for all the children to play with and they should share and take turns. They learn about festivals around the world and the childminder teaches them to respect each other's differences.
