p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not have sufficient understanding of the statutory requirements. Consequently, children’s safety, well-being and personal development are significantly compromised. She has continued to breach requirements despite intervention from Ofsted. She has failed to notify Ofsted of change to persons aged 16 years or older living or working on the premises. This is an offence.  Safeguarding is ineffective. The childminder does not have a secure understanding of the procedures to follow in the event of an allegation being made against adults working with children in her care. The childminder’s safeguarding policy is out of date; it does not include recent changes to safeguarding matters.  The childminder does not ensure that the correct staff to child ratios are always met.  The childminder's risk assessments are ineffective. She does not identify all risks. Where hazards are identified, she does not take the necessary action quickly enough to

keep children safe at all times.  The childminder does not maintain records to ensure the safe and efficient management of the setting, and to help ensure the needs of all children are met. For example, records of children's attendance are incomplete: she does not obtain information regarding all children she cares for. Some records were unavailable for inspection.  The childminder has a poor understanding about how to promote children’s learning and development effectively across all areas of learning. Her assessment of children’s learning is infrequent and inaccurate. She has failed to complete children’s progress checks at two years of age. She is unable to demonstrate the progress that children make.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
