She provides extremely helpful ideas and resources for them to support children's learning at home, ensuring children have highly effective and consistent learning experiences.  The childminder has an excellent understanding and knowledge of the ways children learn and of individual children's preferences and abilities. She very skilfully provides fun activities that challenge children, for example using tongs to transfer seeds and conkers into containers. Children make significant progress from their starting points.  Children are very happy and secure in the relaxed and welcoming childminder's home. and their families. Children are very emotionally secure and very confidently select and explore the wide range of high-quality resources.  The childminder has an extremely strong focus on providing excellent outcomes for children. Inspection activities

 The inspector held discussions with the childminder at convenient times.  The inspector checked documents relating to the suitability and qualifications of the childminder, and sampled documentation regarding planning and children's progress.  The inspector observed indoor and outdoor activities in the childminder's home.  The inspector carried out a joint observation with the childminder.  The inspector took account of the views of parents recorded in the childminder's feedback records.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The childminder very successfully uses her ideas from research to provide a very effective balance between child-led and adult-led activities. She expertly supports children to explore and solve problems themselves, giving them time to process their thoughts and answers, supporting their learning skills superbly. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder's recent training ensures that she is very confident about reporting any child protection concerns and is very clear about her duty to prevent children being at risk of significant harm including exposure to extreme views. Since the last inspection, the childminder has made excellent improvements to increase children's learning experiences outdoors. Older children learn about lifecycles and record their activities, so they can see and recall the process. Children have excellent opportunities to climb and challenge themselves physically. The childminder monitors children's progress very closely to adapt

her educational programmes to meet their needs very well.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder's exceptional preparation enables her to present very exciting activities that capture children's attention. For example, at story time, she provides resources linked to the story, which immediately engages children's interest. They concentrate intently, anticipating the resources appearance in the tale, very confidently commenting on the plot, showing a deep understanding of what is happening. The childminder provides a second copy of the book, enabling children to follow the story from start to finish by themselves. The childminder supports children very well to learn in detail, for example, about the characteristics of conkers, providing great opportunities for them to explore and compare. This leads to children recreating them using other materials.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

The childminder provides an extremely comfortable, child-centred atmosphere which is very stimulating. Children thrive, are very confident, behave extremely well and are very familiar with the routines. The childminder is a very strong role model and has very high expectations of children. Young children have exemplary manners and learn to socialise when the childminder takes them to play with other children. She encourages children to recognise their feelings and is looking at ways to develop this even further.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Young children are extremely curious and keen to learn. They gain superb attitudes and skills for their future learning. Children develop excellent early literacy and mathematical skills. For example, they recognise their own names, avidly listen to stories and eagerly comment on the plot. They very confidently use and understand how some technology works, and use mathematical language to compare and talk about objects.
