p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not have an up-to-date understanding of the safeguarding requirements. She does not know about more recent safeguarding legislation and guidance. However, she does demonstrate a suitable knowledge of child protection procedures.  The childminder knows how to use observations and assessments in order to support children's progress. For example, she knows to gather a range of useful information from parents when their child first starts. She uses this information to help children settle and then plan appropriate activities to support their learning and development.  The childminder has a secure understanding of the progress check for children aged between two and three years. She explains how she uses this assessment in order to tailor activities around each child's abilities and interests, in order to help them make progress.  The childminder explains how she intends to share information and work in partnership

For example, by providing them with a healthy and well-balanced diet and by spending time with them outside in the fresh air.

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
