This provision is good

 The childminder reflects upon her practice to identify what she does well, and carefully considers how she can improve her provision further. This has helped her to develop a good standard of teaching, and to address issues raised at her previous inspection successfully.  Partnerships with parents are strong. The childminder ensures that parents are kept well informed about their child's learning and development. For example, they share videos regularly of their physical achievements and their developing speech.  The childminder supports children's welfare and personal development to a very high standard. Children are extremely happy and self-assured in the childminder's care. They communicate their needs to her confidently and she responds with warmth and enthusiasm, helping them to feel safe and valued.  The childminder uses information from parents, alongside her observations, to assess children's starting points. She plans interesting activities that engage children and

It is not yet outstanding because:

 Babies and younger children do not benefit consistently from a broad range of media and materials to explore, to extend their creative skills and early literacy development.

p.1

What the setting needs to do to improve further

To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities

 The inspector looked around the areas used for childminding.  The inspector observed the childminder as she interacted with the children.  The inspector held discussions with the childminder at various points during the inspection.  The inspector looked at a sample of documentation including feedback from parents.  The inspector talked to children at appropriate times.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good

The childminder is well organised and clearly understands the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She updates her knowledge regularly. For example, she meets with other childminders to share ideas on how to support children's learning. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder reviews her safeguarding knowledge regularly, seeking advice and training to ensure that this remains up to date. She provides a safe environment for children to explore and play. She knows the signs that may indicate that a child is at risk from harm and the steps she should take to address any concerns.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good

The childminder understands how children learn and how she can support their development. She monitors children's learning to identify what children need to learn next and plans activities based on their individual interests and abilities. The childminder communicates with children in a caring and positive way. She plays skilfully alongside them, offering guidance, challenges and encouragement. For example, she supports babies as they learn to crawl by placing interesting objects just out of reach. The childminder helps children to develop their social skills and engage with the local community such as through visits to various groups and events. Children are confident in exploring technology. For example, babies learn how to create lights and sounds as they press the buttons on an interactive toy.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children settle in quickly and develop extremely close and trusting relationships with the childminder. She uses age-appropriate methods highly successfully to help children to manage their feelings and understand boundaries. Their behaviour is excellent. The childminder teaches children exceptionally well to manage their own personal needs and how to keep themselves safe from harm. Children's health is supported extremely well. Children have superb opportunities to enjoy fresh air and exercise such as visiting local parks and outdoor spaces to continue their learning. Parents provide excellent feedback on the healthy and nutritious meals provided by the childminder. They comment that their children have had a fantastic introduction to healthy eating, which has enabled them to continue this at home.

p.3

Outcomes for children are good

Children are highly confident and well prepared for moving on to their next stage in learning. They make consistently good developmental progress and develop positive attitudes to learning. Children gain good communication and language skills. Even the youngest children develop independence and learn to manage their own personal needs.
