The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder has an extremely poor knowledge of the requirements of the early years foundation stage. Therefore, she is unaware of and unable to meet all of the requirements. In addition, she does not demonstrate a capacity to improve her provision. The childminder does not have sufficient understanding and use of English to enable her to ensure the well-being of the children in her care. The childminder has a very weak understanding of safeguarding. She has not updated her knowledge of child protection or the recent changes to safeguarding guidance. She lacks understanding of how to safeguard children, including identifying the signs and symptoms of the different types of abuse. The childminder does not have effective policies and procedures in place to safeguard children. She does not know the procedures to follow should concerns arise about a child or if allegations are made against herself or a family member.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder demonstrates a very poor knowledge of the learning and development requirements. She is not able to articulate sufficiently how she will deliver an effective educational programme for children. The childminder is unaware of how to use observation and assessment effectively. This includes carrying out the progress check for children aged between two and three years. The childminder does not understand how to plan for individual children's needs. She does not demonstrate an appropriate awareness of how to provide learning experiences that promote children's progress across different areas of learning. The childminder holds a current paediatric first-aid certificate and she has appropriate public liability insurance in place.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
