This provision is good
The childminder manages her setting well. She has made some significant improvements since her last inspection. For example, she has improved the educational programmes for children's physical development and literacy learning. The childminder observes and assesses children's progress well. She makes good use of the information gained to plan further challenging experiences and to identify and target any gaps in learning. Children form close bonds with the childminder and her assistants. They are attentive to their individual needs and support children to make good progress in their learning. The childminder works closely with parents and liaises closely with external agencies to ensure children receive the support they need. The childminder is keen to continue to improve her provision and keep up to date with childcare issues. She uses relevant training to develop staff's knowledge of children's

It is not yet outstanding because:
Occasionally, staff do not support children effectively in understanding how they can behave even better. Children's awareness of how to stay healthy is not developed sufficiently well to support their levels of well-being still further.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of the childminder's teaching as she engaged in activities with children. The inspector looked at a range of documentation including children's development profiles, suitability records and evidence of qualifications. The inspector spoke to the childminder and her assistants, and engaged with the children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector took account of parents' views through looking at written feedback provided.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder and her assistants have a clear understanding of their responsibility to protect children. They are confident in the procedures to follow if they have concerns about the welfare of a child in their care. They supervise children well and conduct effective safety risk assessment to identify and reduce potential hazards to children. The childminder checks her provision and children's progress well. She ensures that most areas are provided for well. Any gaps in children's learning are identified and addressed quickly. The childminder uses self-evaluation skilfully to maintain the momentum of improvements to her practice. She works well with parents to support them in gaining support from outside agencies, where children are identified as having additional needs. Parents appreciate the experiences their children have.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has a good understanding of the early years foundation stage learning and development requirements. She plans challenging and interesting experiences that motivate children to learn. For example, children help themselves from a wide range of resources that enables them to lead their own play. The childminder extends children's learning during activities. For example, she introduces new words and encourages children to count and explore size and patterns, and she praises children for their efforts. She speaks clearly to the children and she encourages them to repeat words in English and their home languages. She uses visual aids appropriately to support their skills further.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder's home is welcoming and engages children's interests. Children enjoy their time with her and new children are supported well through a well-thought-out settling-in period. The childminder encourages children to develop their independence in many basic skills such as putting on and taking off their shoes before and after playing outdoors and managing their personal care needs. Children have regular opportunities to engage in physical activities and to play outdoors. The childminder has improved the outdoor learning environment to provide a wider range of experiences to support children of all abilities and with different interests. Children develop an awareness of others who are different from them. They are kind and helpful.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children develop the skills to support their future learning and in readiness for their move to school. They show good levels of enthusiasm and their personal, social and emotional skills develop well. For example, they mix and play well together, share toys and show concern for each other. All children, including those learning English as an additional language, become confident communicators as they engage in discussions and make their needs known confidently.
