This provision is outstanding
The childminder provides consistently excellent care and education for all children. She is always looking for ways to further improve what she already does exceedingly well and has improved the provision to outstanding levels since the last inspection. The childminder makes excellent use of training opportunities to develop her understanding and further improve her already superb teaching skills. The childminder prepares children extremely well for their future learning, including the move to school. Children develop all the key skills they need and, just as importantly, learn to approach these moves with confidence and excitement. The childminder is highly successful at planning and delivering activities and experiences that children will thoroughly enjoy and that fully challenge and extend their learning. She is extremely thorough and accurate at assessing children's progress. Children show exceptionally high levels of well-being. The childminder takes great care

to ensure children settle well and feel very welcome in her home. Children demonstrate that they absolutely love their time with their childminder. The childminder fully understands the challenges children face as they learn to manage their emotions and see things from each other's point of view. She is extremely successful at supporting their developing understanding of acceptable behaviour and children show an understanding beyond their years.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

develop further the already strong partnerships with staff at other settings children also attend, to gain an even greater insight into each child's progress and learning.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder and children in the childminder's home. The inspector discussed the learning that was taking place with the childminder. The inspector took account of the views of parents. The inspector spoke with the childminder about her understanding of safeguarding and first aid. The inspector looked at some documentation, including the childminder's policies and children's records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder has a comprehensive understanding of her responsibility to safeguard children and has a thorough understanding of what to do if she is concerned, to protect a child's welfare. She takes suitable steps to ensure that her assistants share her understanding of safeguarding and all other aspects of their role. She undertakes extremely thoughtful and regular reviews of her provision, all the time further improving the overall experiences and outcomes for children. She builds strong partnerships with staff at nearby schools and pre-schools, and recognises that she could develop these relationships still further to share even more information to support each child's learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder is an inspirational teacher. She works with parents to quickly and accurately identify the skills children already have and then very successfully builds on these with a planned programme of exciting learning experiences. She takes full account of the different ages and needs of each child when planning activities and ensures everyone can join in and learn. For example, she extends younger children's physical development and older children's mathematical understanding equally successfully as they all work together to bake biscuits. She maximizes learning opportunities from outings. For example, children pick their own corn at a local farm, cook and enjoy it as a snack, and use the blackberries they gather to make paint to practise their early writing.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder has used her expert knowledge to develop a wide range of opportunities for children to get to know her before they are left in her care. For example, she offers to visit them and their families in their own homes. Children show a mature understanding of the importance of safety which extends to reminding visitors of the need to tread carefully down steps and to take care near busy roads. They learn to enjoy all the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. For example, when running and exploring in nearby parks and woodlands, and the joy of quiet restful story times after meals.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make excellent progress, rapidly building on what they already know and can do when they start. Very young children quickly learn that trusted adults will look after them with care and kindness. Older children develop the skills needed to think things through and solve problems independently and together with other children. They develop confidence in their own abilities and a keen desire to be 'good citizens', looking out for each other and wanting to ensure everyone is happy and safe. In addition they develop a strong set of physical, mathematical and literacy skills that enable them to thrive as they embark on the new adventure of school.
