This provision is outstanding
The childminder skilfully follows children's lead during play and supports their learning exceptionally well to develop and build on what they already know. Children are highly engaged and enthusiastic about learning. Children are confident and remarkably independent. For example, young children get their own bowls for snack and are determined to complete tasks themselves, such as zipping up their bags. Children continually make outstanding progress in their learning and development. The childminder has an excellent understanding of how to evaluate her practice and maintain the very best outcomes for children. She greatly values children's contributions and views and uses these continually to improve her practice. The childminder is highly reflective and strongly committed to developing her skills. For example, she invites other childminders to observe her practice and has professional discussions about how to further develop her approach.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and assessed the impact of this on children's learning. The inspector jointly evaluated an activity with the childminder and talked about children's learning. The inspector read written feedback from parents. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector read written documents that the childminder uses to support her practice.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is confident about her safeguarding knowledge and fully understands the importance of supporting children's welfare. She knows how to act if she has concerns about children's safety and well-being. The childminder works very effectively in collaboration with parents and other professionals in settings that children also attend. She ensures that detailed information is readily shared and creates an exceptionally consistent approach to children's care and education. The childminder tracks children's learning rigorously and precisely. As a result, she has a detailed understanding of how children are developing and how best to enable them to continue to make rapid progress. The childminder also gives parents excellent ideas on how to further their children's learning at home.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Children have exceptional opportunities to be physically active. For example, the childminder takes children swimming and helps them learn about keeping safe in the water. The childminder gives young children excellent support to develop their literacy skills. For instance, young children understand that words carry meaning and enjoy beginning to explore 'writing'. Children have extremely good communication and language skills. For example, young children build and extend on detailed conversations with the childminder. However, very occasionally the childminder misses the opportunity to ensure children use the correct words and pronounce them accurately.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are exceedingly comfortable and happy in the childminder's home. The childminder provides interesting and exciting activities to help children learn about how to lead healthy lifestyles. For example, they grow their own vegetables and are involved in making a wide range of healthy food. Children readily access a wide range of resources and talk about their favourite toys. The childminder offers warm encouragement and support for children. Children's behaviour is excellent. For instance, young children talk about how to share and take turns with their friends.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make rapid progress from their starting points and make outstanding progress in all areas of their development. Children are highly motivated and absorbed in their learning and play experiences all the time. They develop extremely good concentration skills. Children are exceptionally well prepared for their next stage of learning at nursery or to start school.
