This provision is good
Children are happy, settled and independent. Staff treat children with affection, consideration and respect. They listen to children carefully and respond to their interests well. Staff share a wide range of information about children's time at the club with the parents. They pass on messages from the teachers to help provide continuity in children's care and routines. Parents are happy with the level of care and experiences children receive. Children play well together. They happily include others in their games and play activities. Children consider each other's views, ideas and feelings. Staff provide a good range of interesting and absorbing activities. They help children to keep themselves safe and avoid risks, for example, when using the gymnasium area. Risk assessment procedures are effective. For example, the manager regularly reviews the environment and resources and takes immediate action to identify and reduce any

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The manager makes good use of staff training and qualifications. For example, she deploys staff with particular expertise to help support children effectively. There are good partnerships with other providers. For instance, the manager communicates with the schools that children attend to understand and meet their needs. The manager provides staff with regular support, training and coaching to help them to develop their practice. For example, staff received training to enable them to take children into the gymnasium area and use the equipment safely and productively. Safeguarding is effective. Staff are aware of the signs which may indicate a child is at risk. The manager ensures that all staff understand the correct procedures to follow should any safeguarding concerns arise. The manager monitors the range of resources and staff practice to help her improve the experiences they offer to children. She has successfully addressed the actions set at the
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff talk to children in ways that capture their interest, such as during a conversation about different types of fruit. The manager and other staff make good use of children's interests to help them provide relevant activities and resources. Children enjoy their time at the club and have a wide range of opportunities to explore, challenge and develop their existing skills. For example, staff engaged children in a reading activity that helped to consolidate and extend their understanding of shape, number and colour. Children practise different physical movements and methods of moving. They enjoy using the gymnasium equipment safely and with control. They concentrate and enjoy the range of play activities that staff provide.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are confident, highly motivated, independent, and happy. They are pleased to attend the club after school. Staff are always attentive and supervise children effectively. They offer children a wide range of opportunities to make independent choices and lead their play. Children behave well and have good relationships with other children and staff. Older children show respect and consideration towards younger children and include them in their games and activities. For example, children invite others to join in with their football and bouncing games in the gymnasium area. Staff provide children with opportunities to help them develop an awareness of the importance of leading healthy lifestyles. For example, they ensure that children understand why they need to wash their hands and provide them with healthy snacks.
