This monitoring visit

The home has been empty since the 10 September 2016. The interim manager resigned on that day. All the remaining staff team were redeployed to another home owned by the organisation or are seeking alternative employment. The home remains operational, as all the essential furnishings and equipment remain.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home’s responsible individual and recruitment manager left their posts in August 2016. At present, there is no progress on formalising a replacement responsible individual, leaving the home severely lacking in management oversight.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Plans for the re-opening of the home are unclear, with no current timescale. The home’s owner states that a decision will be taken upon conclusion of a current set of legal proceedings. The home’s owner is aware that an independent visitor will be required to attend the home on a monthly basis and all reports forwarded to the regulator.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home’s owner reports that revisions to the safeguarding, recruitment and admissions policies are in place. These are untested in practice, as the home is currently empty. The home now benefits from a secure email address, which permits the safe exchange of information with partner professionals.

p.2

This monitoring visit

In conclusion, the visit notes limited progress with the requirements and recommendations of the full inspection.
