well. The childminder explains how she will use information gathered from parents to provide appropriate support for children when they first start in her care. She will keep parents informed of their child's progress and what they need to learn next. She will work with parents to give them ideas on how they can further support their child's learning at home. The childminder demonstrates a good understanding of how to promote children's physical well-being. She will provide a healthy well balanced diet and encourage children to become involved in growing vegetables in the garden. She will support children to be active every day and go on outings to a variety of places in the community. The childminder has a suitable knowledge of how to evaluate the quality of her practice. She will involve parents and children to reflect upon things that have gone well and think about how they could be improved.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
The childminder demonstrates that she has a secure understanding of her role and responsibility to safeguard children and keep them safe. She will talk to children about possible dangers so that they can start to assess potential risks for themselves. There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
p.1
Inspection activities
The inspector discussed with the childminder how she intends to deliver the educational programmes for children and undertake observation, assessment and planning. The inspector looked at policies and documents the childminder will use when caring for children and reviewed evidence of the suitability checks for all adults living in the household. The inspector had a tour of the areas of the premises where childcare is to be provided. The inspector and the childminder discussed toys, resources and equipment that she intends to use.
