This provision is good

 Leaders and staff form strong partnerships with parents and use effective ways to involve them in their children's learning. For example, they hold meetings to support parents' understanding of the early years foundation stage and provide ideas for them to support children's learning at home.  Staff have created a culture of respect where diversity is valued and respected. For example, they plan activities with members of the local community and celebrate different festivals and cultural events.  Staff provide children with a good range of activities that build on their interests and learning needs. For example, the wide range of quality resources engages children well and motivates them to learn. Children make good progress.  Relationships between children and staff are good and an effective key-person system is in place. Staff know children well and are warm, caring and nurturing.  Leaders review the provision effectively in order to identify areas to improve. They seek

the views of parents, staff and children to involve them in the self-evaluation process.

p.1

It is not yet outstanding because:

 Some staff occasionally overlook opportunities to extend children's use of language to help them make even better progress.  Staff do not always make full use of all creative activities to help children develop their own ideas.

p.1

What the setting needs to do to improve further

To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

p.2

What the setting needs to do to improve further

 guide staff to make even better use of interactions with children to challenge language development as well as possible  support staff to recognise when to provide children with more time to explore their own creative ideas to develop their thinking skills even further.

p.2

Inspection activities

 The inspector observed teaching practice and the impact on children's learning.  The inspector held discussions with the provider, manager, staff, children and parents.  The inspector read some documentation, including the safeguarding policy and procedures, and children's records.  The inspector carried out joint observations with the managers.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good

Safeguarding is effective. Staff have a secure knowledge of how to keep children safe. They have a clear understanding of the process to follow should they need to report any child protection concerns. Overall, leaders support the staff's professional development well. For example, they encourage staff to reflect on their teaching methods and identify training to help develop their teaching skills even further. The manager and staff monitor and track children's progress closely. They identify any gaps in development quickly and target support well to help children catch up.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good

Staff support children's literacy skills well. For example, staff engage children skilfully as they share books and children join in with familiar parts of the story. Staff provide a wide range of activities that help children to practise their physical skills. For example, children are encouraged to use a variety of movements, such as jumping, as they travel across stepping stones and are taught to use scissors safely. Staff help children to use their mathematical knowledge as they play and explore. For example, staff encouraged children to count the number of candles on birthday cakes and to explore the weight of different objects.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good

Staff support children's emotional well-being skilfully. For example, they use role-play scenarios, such as schools, hospitals and weddings, to help children prepare for events and changes in their lives. Staff are positive role models and use a range of methods to manage children's behaviour successfully. For instance, children take care of their learning environment and adapt their play to allow friends a turn. Children's good health is supported effectively. For example, staff teach children about good hygiene practices, provide healthy meals and help them to stay safe in the sun. Staff support children's independence well. For example, children change their shoes independently and pour drinks for themselves.

p.3

Outcomes for children are good

Children are curious, confident learners. For example, they share the discovery of an interesting bug outdoors enthusiastically. They concentrate on their chosen tasks well and persevere to achieve success. For example, children show determination as they thread shapes onto fine string. They express their ideas clearly and make links with their own experiences. During the inspection, children recognised that the lollipop sticks were also used by doctors. Children develop a good range of skills that prepares them well for their future learning. For example, children talked about their writing confidently.
