She works closely with parents and other carers to agree how to consistently encourage positive behaviour. Children have excellent opportunities to learn about being healthy. For example, they examine cobs of corn they have grown and think how to eat them. The childminder uses her garden and trips into the countryside extremely well for children who like to be active and inquisitive in the fresh air. For instance, children learn how to climb safely and they use flood gates to change water flow in small streams.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children make excellent progress from their starting points and are exceptionally well prepared for school. They know their views are valued and are confident to share them politely. Children are keen to explore and motivated to learn. They know to look closer at the world around them to discover hidden treasures, such as tiny fascinating creatures and patterns in numbers. Children develop excellent skills for literacy and mathematics. They mix well socially and willingly share, negotiate and cooperate. Children help to establish rules that work for everyone.
