Children play in a highly stimulating, welcoming environment. The childminder provides a range of information, such as displays and labels in different languages, which she uses to focus children's attention. She organises activities and resources exceptionally well. She is successful in helping children make their own choices, while ensuring they receive high levels of involvement, when needed. She uses many opportunities to extend children's early reading skills, such as encouraging children to see words and understand that text carries meaning. The childminder works with parents exceedingly well. For instance, she involves them in children's experiences and supports them to extend learning at home, so children make continuous progress. She accurately identifies and addresses any gaps in children's development, and precisely plans for what they need to learn next.

Children benefit from eating a variety of nutritious foods and have many opportunities to learn about healthy lifestyles. For example, they benefit from regular exercise to support their physical well-being. The childminder skilfully plans exciting opportunities for children, such as tasting new foods, so they learn to adopt a balanced and healthy diet.

p.3
